About this project

What does Empty Village add?

🏠Empty Village

Empty Village randomly injects abandoned settlements into your world. They look like they were built by a complete amateur testing out the block palette for the first time (and they were), but they hold enough functional infrastructure to catapult you straight into early-game godhood.

😎Features
* Zero Neighbors: Completely empty settlements ready for you to claim, fix, or strip-mine.
* Amateur Architecture: Structures built with questionable layouts and beginner-level skill.
* Instant Infrastructure: Forget randomized chest loot; these villages are packed with working windmills, querns, pre-lit torches, oil lamps, tables, cooking pots, pre-planted farms, and more.

* 9 different wood roof types for each temperate village combined with structures that adapt to their surroundings, matching the local stone type of the area for an endless variety of unique looks.

* 9 different ceramic/stone roof types for each hot village combined with structures that adapt to their surroundings, matching the local stone type of the area for an endless variety of unique looks.

* 5 different feature variants for each forest/deep forest and jungle/deep jungle village/dwelling for the player to discover.

👥 Mod Compatibility & Synergy
* VS Village Mod Support: While these villages spawn completely empty by default, they function perfectly with the VS Village Mod! If you follow that mod's specific instructions to manually summon or spawn villagers, you can easily turn these amateur ruins into a bustling, populated community. I highly recommend the VS Village mod.

* Please note that there are now single dwelling structures that would require much more effort for villager use.

🥩 The Butcher Post Backstory
I originally designed this structure as a gathering place when I was trying to make a VS Village extension. For this mod, I converted it into a "Butcher Post" to use the space, I have seen videos of players using the butchering mod. To be completely honest, I don't know the exact mechanics of the butchering mod or how it works, so I have no idea if my blocks function automatically with it—but the theme is there!
Tip: If you use the VS Village Mod and want your villagers to have a gathering place, just remove the fences/walls in the structure and remove the center log post, this makes a great place for a brazier! Please follow all VS Villager mod instructions for placing gathering points.

🌍 World Generation Behavior
* Temperate Villages: (Four variations) Only spawn in regions between 0°C and 25°C with any rainfall and in any forest density.
* Desert Villages: (Four variations) Only spawn in hot regions between 25°C and 50°C with any rainfall and  in any forest density.
* Forest Village: (Four variations, smaller village, five feature variations) Only spawn in regions between 0°C and 25°C with decent rainfall and high forest density.
* Deep Forest Villages: (Two variations, single dwelling, five feature variations) Only spawn in regions between 0°C and 25°C with decent rainfall and high forest density.
* Jungle Villages: (Four variations, five feature variations) Only spawn in hot regions between 25°C and 50°C with decent rainfall and high forest density.
* Deep Jungle Villages: (Two variations, single dwelling, five feature variations) Only spawn in hot regions between 25°C and 50°C with decent rainfall and high forest density.
* Cold Village: (Single village) Only spawn in cold regions between -50°C and -5°C with any rainfall or snowfall and  in any forest density.

* Spacing: Villages are kept at least 2,500 blocks apart to preserve the thrill of exploration and keep them incredibly rare.

🛠️ Release Disclaimer
* First-Time Modder: This is my very first mod! It was made through a lot of trial, error, and studying how other mods work.
* Safe to Remove: All structures are built using 100% vanilla blocks. You can safely remove this mod from your world at any time without causing errors or leaving broken question mark blocks behind.

🧹 How to Remove a Spawned Village
If you decide to uninstall the mod and want to completely erase a village that has already generated in your world, you can cleanly wipe it from the terrain using these steps.

1. Stand in the middle of the village:
2. Open your chat/console by pressing /.
3. Type gm 2 and hit enter to enter Creative Mode.
4. Open the console again with / and type wgen regen 1 and hit enter to regenerate the chunk.
5. Wait a moment while the world recompiles (it won't take long!).

⚠️ WARNING: USE WITH CAUTION! This command forcefully resets the terrain back to its natural, untouched state. Anything you have built, stored, or placed inside the regeneration zone will be DELETED PERMANENTLY!
