About this project
What does Dirt/Gravel Hole filler add?
Dirt & Gravel Hole Filler
Tested in Creative and Single Player.
Tired of leaving underground ruins, mine shafts, and cave systems looking like Swiss cheese after looting them? This mod was made to help quickly backfill all those abandoned tunnels and ruined rooms without spending multiple in-game days placing dirt blocks by hand.
Clear the area of loot, clutter, and ruins, deploy the filler, and let it do the dirty work.
Features
- Quickly fills underground ruins and cave shafts
- Flat filler variants for covering large open areas
- Room filler variants for sealing entire chambers
- Great for cleaning up explored caves and reducing spawn areas
- Helps remove the need for covering everything in torches after raiding ruins
Current State
This mod is still in early development and can be a bit finicky at times, but the core functionality is working well in actual gameplay.
Planned features include:
- Throwable deployment items
- Timed “fuse” delay before filling
- Better placement behavior
- Improved reliability and expansion options
Balance Notes
Recipes are currently not balanced and are open to feedback and suggestions.
The mod can technically be abused for:
- Generating gravel for sifting
- Dirt block duplication
Use it however you want, but the intended purpose is simple:
clean up the world after you’ve stripped a ruin bare and move on to the next adventure.
About the Mod
Yes, this was made with AI assistance.
I’m not a programmer — I play Vintage Story for fun and wanted a tool that solved a problem I personally had in-game. Instead of spending hours manually filling caves and ruins, I made something to speed the process up and make underground exploration feel cleaner and less tedious.
If others find it useful too, even better.
