Quick answer

Which Extratastic release matches 1.7.10 Forge?

Updated today
Best match for your filters Extratastic (Client Pack)
Game version 1.7.10
Loader Forge 10.13.4.1614

Extratastic (Client Pack) is a complete pack release for 1.7.10 with Forge 10.13.4.1614. Install it as its own launcher instance. If the creator publishes a separate server file, make sure it names this exact pack release. 62 mods in this pack file.

Pack setup

How should I set up Extratastic for players and a server?

Use Extratastic (Client Pack) as the pack version. Install the pack as its own launcher instance. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file, so check the release notes before setting up a dedicated server. Do not upload the ordinary client folder blindly.

Client instance Install Extratastic (Client Pack)
Dedicated server setup Match Extratastic (Client Pack)
Pack loader Forge 10.13.4.1614

A pack is a matched client and server setup, not one mod with an install-side label. Keep its release, loader, manifest and overrides together.

Referenced mods 62
Client only 3
Server only 0
Not labelled 59

These numbers come from the pack file you chose. “Not labelled” means we don’t know which side it belongs on—not that it is safe everywhere. The file count is not a RAM estimate.

What are the server requirements for Extratastic?

Extratastic (Client Pack) on 1.7.10 Forge. The pack contents and setup notes below stay tied to that release.

62 mods in this pack file

The selected pack release is Extratastic (Client Pack). That file is for Minecraft 1.7.10 with Forge 10.13.4.1614. It contains 62 mod projects. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file. Check their notes before using one, and do not upload an ordinary client folder or rebuild the pack mod by mod. A file count cannot tell us the right RAM, CPU or storage; size the server for the players and world you actually run.

Extratastic

The best way to enjoy Minecraft in the mod maker's objective opinion!

A modpack with a Tinker's based early-game progression. Hardcore elements have been introduced using the Iguana Tweaks mod, modifying hunger, regeneration and recipes for tools (vanilla tools are disabled and are only usable for crafting, knowledge on Tinker's Construct is required for the modpack)!

Server Pack

Hosted with Linux

Use the "LaunchServer.sh" launch script to start the server in the terminal (USING THE "Minecraft-1.7.10.jar" DIRECTLY WILL RESULT IN A CORRUPTED WORLD FILE! ALWAYS USE THE "LaunchServer.sh"-SCRIPT!!!). Frequently backing up your world directory is recommended.

Launch the server in a Java 8 runtime environment. This version is a REQUIREMENT (don't blame me).

Obtaining the JRE 8

Arch Linux

Via the AUR (Arch User Repository)

JRE Version Look-Up

>>> java -version

openjdk version "1.8.0_502"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_502-b07)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.502-b07, mixed mode)

Hosted on Other Plattforms

You are on your own here! There are various tutorial on how to setup a 1.7.10 Modded Minecraft Server. Follow the appropriate instructions for your operating system!

Misc. Info

Hosting a Server on Raspberry Pi OS 5

A JRE 8 for ARM64 exists and is available for download from various sources.

Default Server Properties

By default, the server will be launch with 16GB of memory (JVM ARGS: -Xmx16GB -Xms16GB). This can be changed by editing the MEMORY variable in the LaunchServer.sh bash script (in case your device runs into insufficient memory issues, i.e. on Raspberry Pi OS).

Recommended Seed Values

Three seeds have especially stood out:

  • -954215489870471139
  • 29332744912784423564
  • -343522682

Default World Generation

Singleplayer

Change the world generation setting, during world creation to "Biomes O'Plenty" while creating your world. THIS CANNOT BE CHANGED LATER.

Multiplayer

The world generation setting is already correctly set to "BIOMESOP" in the "server.properties" file that comes included in the Server Pack. If you wish to create a custom properties file, remember to set the level-type parameter to BIOMESOP!

level-type=BIOMESOP

Glitch Where Players Can't Break Blocks

Sadly this happens for some players in multiplayer. The only solution found so far is to give op to all players (act with caution as the server host).

Disclaimer on Licences

The creator of this modpack neither contributed nor created any of the mods contained in Extratastic. All mods were added in good faith by the creator. IF YOU ARE THE AUTHOR OF ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED MODS (and disagree with the inclusion of your mod): Please get in touch on the linked GitHub, and the modpack maker will resolve the issue as soon as possible!
