ChaosLoop Pack
Everything you need to play ChaosLoop with friends: the push-to-talk radio, proximity voice, shaders, and the performance and quality-of-life mods to hold it together.
Quick answer
Which ChaosLoop Pack release should I use?
ChaosLoop Pack.zip is a complete pack release for 1.20.1 with Fabric 0.19.5. Install it as its own launcher instance. If the creator publishes a separate server file, make sure it names this exact pack release. 20 mods in this pack file.
Pack setup
How should I set up ChaosLoop Pack for players and a server?
Use ChaosLoop Pack.zip as the pack version. Install the pack as its own launcher instance. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file, so check the release notes before setting up a dedicated server. Do not upload the ordinary client folder blindly.
A pack is a matched client and server setup, not one mod with an install-side label. Keep its release, loader, manifest and overrides together.
These numbers come from the pack file you chose. “Not labelled” means we don’t know which side it belongs on—not that it is safe everywhere. The file count is not a RAM estimate.
What are the server requirements for ChaosLoop Pack?
ChaosLoop Pack.zip. Change the pack release and its contents or setup may change too.
The selected pack release is ChaosLoop Pack.zip. That file is for Minecraft 1.20.1 with Fabric 0.19.5. It contains 20 mod projects. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file. Check their notes before using one, and do not upload an ordinary client folder or rebuild the pack mod by mod. A file count cannot tell us the right RAM, CPU or storage; size the server for the players and world you actually run.
About this project
What kind of pack is ChaosLoop Pack?
A survival session with a shape, and the client set up for it.
ChaosLoop turns a world into a run: events fire on a clock, minigames drop everybody into an arena, and a curse builds behind all of it until somebody kills the Ender Dragon or it kills everybody. This pack is the client half — voice, the radio key, shaders, and the quality-of-life mods that make a four-hour session bearable.
Fabric, Minecraft 1.20.1.
⚠ The server needs two things this pack cannot install
This pack is the CLIENT. The game itself lives on the server:
- ChaosLoop — the datapack. Drop it in
world/datapacks/. Without this there is no game to play. - ChaosLoop Plugin — graves, mimics, the inventory vault and the walkie-talkies. Paper only.
What is in it
The reason it exists
- ChaosLoop Radio — hold a key, talk on your walkie-talkie frequency; let go and you are back to whoever is next to you
- Simple Voice Chat — proximity voice, and what the radios run on
So it runs
- Sodium and Iris — frames, and shaders on top of them
- Fabric API, Balm, Cloth Config — the libraries everything else needs
So it does not annoy you
- Xaero's Minimap and World Map — you will be dropped in strange places
- Ok Zoomer — for spotting somebody across an arena
- Mouse Tweaks and Crafting Tweaks — inventory handling that does not fight you
- Gamma Utils — for the parts of the curse that turn the lights off
So it looks like something
- Not Enough Animations and First Person Model — you can see your own body and what everybody else is doing
- ReplayMod — the dragon curse ending is worth recording
Shaders and resource packs
BSL is included and switched on. Turn shaders off entirely with the Iris menu if your machine would rather not.
A few packs are worth adding yourself, and are not bundled because their authors keep the rights to them: Fresh Animations for mob movement, and a GUI pack if you like a dark inventory.
The ChaosLoop resource pack — the walkie-talkie model that lights up while you talk, the ornate boss bars, and the lucky block texture — is not in here either, for the same reason. Message me on Discord: im_amjed1
Playing
- Join a server running the ChaosLoop datapack (and ideally the plugin) 2. An operator runs
/function chaosloop:setupto pick a pace, then/function chaosloop:start3. Bind your radio key in Options → Controls → ChaosLoop 4. Voice chat needs one UDP port open on the server — the plugin's README covers the setting that is usually the reason it does not work
Notes
- Fabric 1.20.1. Not Forge, not NeoForge.
- Every mod here is somebody else's work and is included under the terms they publish it with. The only things of mine in this pack are ChaosLoop Radio and the configuration.
- If you only want the game and none of the client extras, the datapack alone is enough — it runs on a vanilla client.
