Floating Island: Zombie Survival is a Minecraft survival experience built around resource management, base building, crafting, and defending against increasingly dangerous zombie hordes. Build your bunker, gather precious materials, improve your equipment, and prepare for the next attack. Every day counts, and standing still is not an option.

The Sky Island world type is selected automatically by default.

1. Create a new world.

2. Confirm that Sky Island is selected as the world type.

3. Create your world and prepare to survive!

You shouldn't need to manually hunt through the world-generation settings to find the intended island preset. If you change the world type, make sure you select Sky Island to get the intended survival experience.

Every resource counts. Waste too much, and you may not have what you need when the next horde arrives.

🏰 Build and Defend Your Bunker

Your island is your home, and your bunker is your lifeline.

Reinforce your walls, plan your defenses, and prepare for zombies that become increasingly capable of breaking through your fortifications.

Defensive options include wooden stakes, copper spikes, iron barbed wire, and spike traps. Different traps deal different amounts of damage, so experiment with layered defenses and plan around the time you have before the next horde.

A strong bunker is built before the horde arrives, not during the attack.

• Collect useful drops from enemies.

• Recycle unwanted chestplates in a furnace to recover materials.

♻️ Chestplate Recycling

Unwanted chestplates can be smelted in a regular furnace to recover useful resources:

• Chainmail Chestplate → Chain

• Iron Chestplate → Iron Ingot

• Golden Chestplate → Gold Ingot

• Diamond Chestplate → Diamond

• Netherite Chestplate → Netherite Ingot

Each supported chestplate returns one listed material. Recycling quests reward you for smelting the appropriate chestplate, so simply obtaining one does not count as completing the task.

Use a regular furnace to smelt supported chestplates and recover useful materials. Each supported chestplate returns one material as listed in the recycling section above.

🛡️ Layer Your Defenses

Wooden stakes and copper spikes can damage zombies as they pass through them. Iron barbed wire and spike traps deal substantially more damage per tick in testing. Combine defenses to slow down and damage the horde before it reaches your bunker.

🧟 Use Zombie Tracking to Your Advantage

Zombies can detect and track you from farther away than you might expect. Use this to your advantage by drawing them toward traps and defensive positions where you're prepared to fight.

📅 Prepare Before Every Seventh Day

Horde stats increase by 5% every seven in-game days. Use the time between milestones to gather materials, reinforce your bunker, improve your equipment, and stockpile supplies.
