Hearth & Crown

Hearth & Crown

Build Thy Kingdom

Every kingdom begins with a single hearth.

Hearth & Crown is a medieval RPG modpack about growing from a lone traveler into the ruler of a living realm. Choose your origin, raise a settlement, fill it with villagers who have their own lives and stories, master swords and spells, and face the monsters that lurk beyond your walls. When your kingdom is strong enough, the age of magic gives way to the age of machines.

⚜ Choose Thy Origin

Begin your journey as one of many fantasy races and classes, from dwarves and goblins to fae and beyond, powered by NeoOrigins with fantasy, class and background add-ons. Origin powers have been rebalanced for this pack so every choice stays viable.

🏰 Raise Thy Settlement

Found a colony with MineColonies and watch it grow from a few huts into a bustling town of builders, farmers, guards and craftsmen. Colonies tie into the rest of the pack: trade posts, colony ranks, taxes and war, nobility, factions, and even thieves who will test your defenses.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 A Realm That Lives

MCA Reborn brings villagers to life. Talk to them, befriend them, marry, raise a family, and watch your towns gain capitals, crime and conversations of their own.

🔮 Spells & Steel

• Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks with a large family of add-ons: elemental schools, bardic magic, magic from the East, and more
• Better Combat and Epic Knights for weighty melee and true medieval armor
• Reskillable and Apotheosis for skill progression, gear affixes and deep enchanting
• Walk the night as a vampire or werewolf, or hunt them down
• Skills gate what you can craft and use, so no one can master everything alone. Divide the work across your kingdom: smiths supply the metal, tinkerers build the machines, and owned machines only craft what their owner could.

⚔ Monsters & Legends

Face mighty bosses from L_Ender's Cataclysm, Mowzie's Mobs and Aquamirae, delve into Alex's Caves, and survive harsher nights with mutant monsters, illager invasions and scaling difficulty.

🗺 Explore the Wilds

Ruins, dungeons, towers and sunken treasures await, with YUNG's structures, When Dungeons Arise, Integrated Dungeons, Valhelsia Structures, an overhauled Nether and End, and per-player loot so no chest goes to waste.

⚙ From Hearth to Industry

When your kingdom is established, harness Create for late-game automation, with enchanting, cooking, decoration and colony logistics add-ons that tie your machines into your settlement.

🍞 Life in the Realm

• A full kitchen with Farmer's Delight and many add-ons, plus brewing
• Seasons that change your harvest
• Furniture, decoration and building blocks for truly medieval towns
• Immersive ambient sounds, sound physics and a custom medieval soundtrack
• Proximity voice chat: talk to those nearby, whisper, or form groups to speak across the realm
• Shader support for those who want it

---

📜 Requirements

• Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.265
• RAM: 8 GB minimum, 10 GB recommended
• A microphone is optional, for proximity voice chat

🖥 Hosting a Server

A ready-made server pack is available in the Files tab. It needs Java 21, and the start script installs NeoForge for you. For voice chat, open UDP port 24454 (or the port your host assigns) in addition to the game port.

🕯 Getting Started

1. On your first join you'll choose an origin, a class and a background. These choices are permanent, since the orbs that change them can't be crafted, so check the Origins Guide below before you pick. Some origins, like the Strider and Piglin, begin their journey in the Nether.
2. Explore, gather, and find a good place to settle.
3. Craft a Supply Camp (or Supply Ship) to found your colony with MineColonies.
4. Look for spellbooks, scrolls and an inscription table to begin your path in magic.

📖 Origins Guide

With 65 origins, 36 classes and 50 backgrounds to choose from, picking can be daunting. These guides cover every choice in the pack: buffs, debuffs, abilities, starting gear, and how each origin evolves as you slay monsters.

Both are included in the pack's guides folder. In the CurseForge app, open the pack's folder to find them.

• Origins Guide (PDF): a full write-up of every origin, class and background
• Origins Table (opens in your browser): the same information in a searchable, sortable table, which is handy for comparing choices
