Quick answer

Which Extreme Optimization! release should I use?

Updated 2 months ago
Latest stable file Client / Single 1.12.2 Forge Java 8 ⛈️
Game version 1.12.2
Loader Forge 14.23.5.2860

Client / Single 1.12.2 Forge Java 8 ⛈️ is a complete pack release for 1.12.2 with Forge 14.23.5.2860. Install it as its own launcher instance. If the creator publishes a separate server file, make sure it names this exact pack release. 7 mods in this pack file.

Pack setup

How should I set up Extreme Optimization! for players and a server?

Use Client / Single 1.12.2 Forge Java 8 ⛈️ as the pack version. Install the pack as its own launcher instance. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file, so check the release notes before setting up a dedicated server. Do not upload the ordinary client folder blindly.

Client instance Install Client / Single 1.12.2 Forge Java 8 ⛈️
Dedicated server setup Match Client / Single 1.12.2 Forge Java 8 ⛈️
Pack loader Forge 14.23.5.2860

A pack is a matched client and server setup, not one mod with an install-side label. Keep its release, loader, manifest and overrides together.

Referenced mods 7
Client only 0
Server only 0
Not labelled 7

These numbers come from the pack file you chose. “Not labelled” means we don’t know which side it belongs on—not that it is safe everywhere. The file count is not a RAM estimate.

What are the server requirements for Extreme Optimization!?

Client / Single 1.12.2 Forge Java 8 ⛈️. Change the pack release and its contents or setup may change too.

7 mods in this pack file

The selected pack release is Client / Single 1.12.2 Forge Java 8 ⛈️. That file is for Minecraft 1.12.2 with Forge 14.23.5.2860. It contains 7 mod projects. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file. Check their notes before using one, and do not upload an ordinary client folder or rebuild the pack mod by mod. A file count cannot tell us the right RAM, CPU or storage; size the server for the players and world you actually run.

About this project

What kind of pack is Extreme Optimization!?

Modpack is undergoing slow renovation 🔃!

Besides a pure FPS boost, now tries to account for in-game situations, such as the use of block entities that can cause lag, and so on. Each mod goes through a multi-stage checking process and verified with trusted developers. In case of issues, I try to stay in contact with the developers of the respective mod. If you're surprised that some mod isn't here, things might not be as clear as you thought.

Hope I can help in the swamp of slop 🥀

Modpack is partially influenced by MC-Optimization-Guide.

If you've ever been looking for a list of thoroughly vetted mods, this might be the place.

If you can allocate 8+ GB of RAM to Minecraft, I can suggest my client Java Arguments.

I'm not fully sure of their correctness, but they've been tested for about half a year without any issues. However, I'm sure they can be improved or fine-tuned to perfection.

TL;DR: Use this if you want to eliminate freezes.
preferably use with GraalVM 25+. If it fails to launch - outdated Java or conflicting JVM flag.

Want to squeeze every fps out of your minecraft?

Don't need any extra mods, and only care about FPS? Right place! Extreme Optimization! modpack assembled to get the maximum possible FPS.

Other Modpacks

According to my observations and life experience, many modpacks add something of themselves, some improved cursors, effects, new sounds and so on, but this is not about Extreme Optimization!

But what exactly Extreme Optimization! do?

I decided to make it "modular". You download the base , its whole task is to squeeze out absolutely every FPS, but what about "modularity"?..

You can freely use this modpack as a base for your modpack, it will facilitate the creation of your modpack, and you will not have to think about its optimization.
