Quick answer

Which #Cowbutton release should I use?

Updated 8 years ago
Latest stable file #Cowbutton-1.2172
Game version 1.10.2
Loader Forge 12.18.3.2511

#Cowbutton-1.2172 is a complete pack release for 1.10.2 with Forge 12.18.3.2511. Install it as its own launcher instance. If the creator publishes a separate server file, make sure it names this exact pack release. 172 mods in this pack file.

Pack setup

How should I set up #Cowbutton for players and a server?

Use #Cowbutton-1.2172 as the pack version. Install the pack as its own launcher instance. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file, so check the release notes before setting up a dedicated server. Do not upload the ordinary client folder blindly.

Client instance Install #Cowbutton-1.2172
Dedicated server setup Match #Cowbutton-1.2172
Pack loader Forge 12.18.3.2511

A pack is a matched client and server setup, not one mod with an install-side label. Keep its release, loader, manifest and overrides together.

Referenced mods 172
Client only 0
Server only 0
Not labelled 172

These numbers come from the pack file you chose. “Not labelled” means we don’t know which side it belongs on—not that it is safe everywhere. The file count is not a RAM estimate.

What are the server requirements for #Cowbutton?

#Cowbutton-1.2172. Change the pack release and its contents or setup may change too.

172 mods in this pack file

The selected pack release is #Cowbutton-1.2172. That file is for Minecraft 1.10.2 with Forge 12.18.3.2511. It contains 172 mod projects. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file. Check their notes before using one, and do not upload an ordinary client folder or rebuild the pack mod by mod. A file count cannot tell us the right RAM, CPU or storage; size the server for the players and world you actually run.

About this project

What kind of pack is #Cowbutton?

This Modpack is based on Skyfactory 3, but it holds its own unique identity. Yes it also has an achievement book.

#Cowbutton got its name from a bit of an inside joke between myself and a friend. We played a 1.7.10 modpack with a grand number of mods intended to provide as many different adventures as possible. One such venture, started out of a whim, was to capture a rather large creature from the AVP mod.
Our imaginations ran wild as the goofy alien creature was dubbed 'Mister Wibbles'. He 'needed' to eat, so we added a button to give him whole cows whenever we wanted.

This modpack is intended to be a successor to those experiences with Modded Skyblock survival with my friends. From a single tree in the sky; Your adventure begins as you turn one resource into another.

Dive head-first into the Aether, the Nether, the End and the Beneath in search of what few resources you cannot create for yourself. Automate every process and create machines for every task.

As of version 1.2157; #Cowbutton has undergone a rather drastic overall change. Those of you currently playing the Modpack will run into issues with existing saves while updating.

As of 2/11/18, The Modpack no longer requires Optifine to avoid crashing on startup! Woo!

2/18/18-Added Server Pack. It should be fairly easy to keep these up for each future version of #Cowbutton.

-Potential Removal List (I'm gonna sleep on it first):

AliensVersusPredator+MDXLib (Many issues that cannot be solved in 1.10.2 without the Mod Author's potential future edits.) (Weary of removing the Wibbles!)

BiomeTweaker(Causing issues with the biomes of other dimensions, which I don't actually care to edit the spawns of).

Better Creepers. (How high was I?)

-Need to Add Progression for Roots and Totemic.

3/7/18-Mods will be updated for future versions, but the majority of my current Modpack Efforts are with the 1.12.2 version of this pack, which can be found here.
