Quick answer

Which Alar release should I use?

Updated 2 years ago
Latest stable file Alar (D) 1.10.1
Game version 1.16.5
Loader Forge 36.2.39

Alar (D) 1.10.1 is a complete pack release for 1.16.5 with Forge 36.2.39. Install it as its own launcher instance. If the creator publishes a separate server file, make sure it names this exact pack release. 370 mods in this pack file.

Pack setup

How should I set up Alar for players and a server?

Use Alar (D) 1.10.1 as the pack version. Install the pack as its own launcher instance. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file, so check the release notes before setting up a dedicated server. Do not upload the ordinary client folder blindly.

Client instance Install Alar (D) 1.10.1
Dedicated server setup Match Alar (D) 1.10.1
Pack loader Forge 36.2.39

A pack is a matched client and server setup, not one mod with an install-side label. Keep its release, loader, manifest and overrides together.

Referenced mods 370
Client only 6
Server only 0
Not labelled 364

These numbers come from the pack file you chose. “Not labelled” means we don’t know which side it belongs on—not that it is safe everywhere. The file count is not a RAM estimate.

What are the server requirements for Alar?

Alar (D) 1.10.1. Change the pack release and its contents or setup may change too.

370 mods in this pack file

The selected pack release is Alar (D) 1.10.1. That file is for Minecraft 1.16.5 with Forge 36.2.39. It contains 370 mod projects. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file. Check their notes before using one, and do not upload an ordinary client folder or rebuild the pack mod by mod. A file count cannot tell us the right RAM, CPU or storage; size the server for the players and world you actually run.

About this project

What kind of pack is Alar?

This modpack adds realism and RPG-style progression to Minecraft. It also improves on the exploration, adding a lot of content without feeling overwhelming (although keep in mind it is still quite challenging). For certain aspects of the gameplay, I took some inspiration from RLCraft.

🔸 New survival mechanics like thirst and body temperature

🔸 Horror-style new creatures

🔸 Improved 1st and 3rd person perspectives

🔸 RPG-style skills development

🔸 Semi-realistic Blocks and liquids physics

🔸 New and improved dungeons and structures

🔸 Mowzie's mobs (check out the best bosses mod!)

🔸 20+ new biomes

Tools and Armor Strength:

  • Ruby and Sapphire equipment is stronger than Diamond, due to the gems' rarity.
  • Topaz tools and armor are a bit weaker than Diamond.
  • Emerald and Amethyst are a bit stronger than iron but weaker than Topaz.
  • Quartz tools and armor are a bit weaker than iron.

Installation

This modpack was made for the CurseForge launcher. Installing it on other launchers may bring some issues like missing features or unexpected crashes.

Optifine:

Optifine SHOULD be compatible but I stopped testing with it because it prolongs loading screens*.

*Before Installing Optifine:

  • Remove the following mods:

  • Rubidium

  • Magnesium/Rubidium Dynamic Lights

  • Magnesium/Rubidium Extra

  • Oculus

  • I will not provide support for anything Optifine-related

Here's a tutorial on how to add Optifine to your Modpack:
