HalalMC
Vanilla minecraft, but with an attempt to remove or rework all haram elements such as pork, magic, wearing gold, improper slaughter, etc.
Quick answer
Which HalalMC release should I use?
v1.2.1-forge-1.20.1 is a complete pack release for 1.20.1 with Forge 47.4.13. Install it as its own launcher instance. If the creator publishes a separate server file, make sure it names this exact pack release. 6 mods in this pack file.
Pack setup
How should I set up HalalMC for players and a server?
Use v1.2.1-forge-1.20.1 as the pack version. Install the pack as its own launcher instance. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file, so check the release notes before setting up a dedicated server. Do not upload the ordinary client folder blindly.
A pack is a matched client and server setup, not one mod with an install-side label. Keep its release, loader, manifest and overrides together.
These numbers come from the pack file you chose. “Not labelled” means we don’t know which side it belongs on—not that it is safe everywhere. The file count is not a RAM estimate.
What are the server requirements for HalalMC?
v1.2.1-forge-1.20.1. Change the pack release and its contents or setup may change too.
The selected pack release is v1.2.1-forge-1.20.1. That file is for Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47.4.13. It contains 6 mod projects. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file. Check their notes before using one, and do not upload an ordinary client folder or rebuild the pack mod by mod. A file count cannot tell us the right RAM, CPU or storage; size the server for the players and world you actually run.
About this project
What kind of pack is HalalMC?
Description
The motive for such a making such a modpack is because if doing something is haram in real life, it is also haram to do or get intentionally exposed to in games. Therefore the aim of this modpack is to remove or rework the haram features within minecraft as small as possible while making it 100% compliant with islamic principles.
Tweaked Features
Pork
-Pork and Cooked pork are completely removed from the game.
Magic & Enchantments
This modpack aims to remove any player related magical references, and not any hostile mob related magical references such as the witch, evoker, etc. since they are the antagonists and fight against the player.
-Enchantments system is reworked into the "Enhancement" system with no visual or gameplay-related changes. Only the wordings and names of certain elements are changed such that the enhancement system is thematically irrelevant of any magical elements. Example: "Enchanted Book" -> "Book of Knowledge"
-Magic death messages are changed.
-Luck potion is removed(It was not accessible from survival anyways.)
Halal Slaughter
-Cows, sheep, chicken, and rabbits now only drop their meat and leather loot tables if they are killed using an non-wooden/ gold (since realistically, gold or wooden might not have a sharp enough cutting edge to make the animal suffer less) axe or a sword that is capable of one shotting them(crits included.) And they no longer drop cooked meat when burnt.
-The loot tables of Horse, llama, trader llama, wandering trader, and cat are removed due to unknown method of slaughter or the mob being impermissible/najis.
Wearing Gold
-All gold armor has been removed from the game(The piglins can still spawn wearing them.) This restriction is of course only for men and not for women, but I couldn't find another simple way to resolve it other than completely removing it.
Totem of Undying
-Totem of Undying is reworked into "Emergency Aid Kit" by remaining functionally intact. This is because relying on any charm, idol, or totem other than Allah(s.w.t.) the way someone would rely on Allah(s.w.t.) is considered minor shirk in islam, which is sinful irl, which would make it sinful in game.
Music Disks
-All music discs containing a musical instrument are removed (all except for disc 11.) I know I'm not leaving a lot of "good" alternatives to listen to, and I know most people might not agree with me on this, I'm not here to debate, that's just the way this modpack is, so just go with it!
Miscellaneous
-Eatable items that would cause harm on eating but have other usages as well (Ex. spider eye) are now uneatable
-Cleric is now renamed as "Alchemist."
-Carved pumpkin is reworked, jack o' lanterns are removed.
