MERC-Front is a community-run, third-party modpack built around BlockFront. It is designed for structured multiplayer gameplay, custom-built maps, and organized events, rather than traditional Minecraft survival or progression-based gameplay. Gameplay focuses on FPS-style, match-based combat with class-based loadouts and objective-driven game modes. The modpack supports a wide range of themes, from historical settings (including WWII) to sci-fi and experimental environments, depending on the maps and events being hosted.

Many items do not have crafting recipes, making survival gameplay impractical and unsupported.

Servers and Matchmaking

Core Gameplay

MERC-Front adds FPS-style combat mechanics and structured multiplayer gameplay inspired by round-based shooters.

⚠️ Matchmaking has to be set up manually on a server and is not available in single-player mode. As an alternative, you can play on the official servers. If you want to set up your own server, it is recommended that you use this mod list MERC-Front Server Side Mods instead of the modpack, although the modpack is also compatible.

Game Modes

The modpack supports multiple multiplayer game modes, including:

Classes

Players select from multiple gameplay classes with defined roles in matches. Current classes include:

• Lt. Rifle
• Assault
• Support

• Anti-Tank
• Commander
• Specialist Class coming soon!

Maps

Currently there are over 24 playable maps each with its own layout and theme, with more on the way.

⚠️ These maps can only be accessed via the official servers and are not included in the modpack.

Current state

There is no always-online public matchmaking server until 18.4.2026 19:00.
