DarkTFC - UltraHardcore is a modpack designed to challenge even the most experienced players, immersing you in a stone-age survival experience like no other. With harsh conditions that demand meticulous preparation, this pack enhances realism through a curated selection of mods, including nearly all popular TerraFirmaCraft add-ons.

In addition to realism-focused gameplay, the modpack includes numerous Quality of Life improvements, immersive enhancements, and aesthetic upgrades such as improved soundscapes, beautiful clouds with regional weather systems, and even blood effects during combat.

To further elevate the experience, DarkTFC features a custom upgrade system where players earn random upgrades by completing any achievement. This ensures every playthrough feels fresh and unique.

Mechanics

All configurations and settings in the modpack have been customized. Numerous game mechanics have been overhauled using datapacks and scripts, enhancing immersion and making the gameplay experience more engaging.

📡 Proximity Chat: Player messages are now only visible within a short range. The modpack includes SimpleVoiceChat and SimpleRadio, allowing you to craft walkie-talkies for long-distance communication.
🔆 Hardcore Darkness: Starting from the third night, the world becomes completely dark outdoors. Nighttime visibility on the surface now depends on the moon phase, while caves remain pitch black without a light source.
🔗 Reduced Debug Info: Features like hitboxes, chunk borders, and coordinates are hidden. To access this information, you’ll need tools from the FirmaCiv mod. Additionally, the Joy of Painting mod allows you to create artwork using dyes you find during your journey, enabling you to hand-draw maps of the terrain.
💀 Enhanced Mob AI: All mobs, including passive ones, have significantly improved AI. Hostile mobs have double health, can spot you from a greater distance, and hunt in groups. Creepers will clear paths by exploding, and animals can fight back when attacked.
🌙 Perilous Nights: Mobs spawn on the surface during the night. Creepers and spiders no longer drop items when killed on the surface.
🧠 Sanity System: Your mental state deteriorates over time due to actions like killing animals, sitting in darkness, being wet, starving, or fighting monsters. Eventually, you may hallucinate and face death if you lose your sanity entirely.
🔒 Locked Inventory: Your inventory is initially limited to just nine hotbar slots. More slots unlock as you earn achievements.
🏹 Reduced Reach and Swimming Speed: Mining and resource gathering are more realistic with reduced reach distance. Swimming is slower, making water escapes less effective.
🔩 Better Combat Mod: Enjoy a refined combat system with weapon swings, modified attack ranges, and unique animations for different weapons.
🪓 Tool-Dependent Interactions: Grass and paths can no longer be modified without the proper tools. Use a shovel to pave roads and clear grass.
🔀 Tweaked Mechanics: Minor gameplay adjustments enhance realism and immersion. In-game hints guide you through these changes.
⛅ Improved Weather: The SimpleClouds mod introduces local weather effects and stunning clouds for a more atmospheric experience.
🌡️ Dynamic Temperature System: The Cold Sweat mod introduces a realistic temperature system, challenging players to adapt to their environment. You'll need to prepare for extreme conditions by managing heating and cooling solutions, such as crafting specialized clothing to survive harsh winters.
🥣 Stamina and Parkour System: Survival demands skill and endurance. A stamina bar now limits your actions, and advanced parkour tricks can be unlocked through achievements.
🩸 Hardcore Revival: Other players can revive you within 10 minutes of death at the cost of their hunger and thirst. Alternatively, you can choose to surrender.
☠️ Corpse System: Upon death, your corpse remains at the location, storing all your items.
🛏️ Challenging Sleep: Sleeping has a cooldown and requires a full hunger bar, preventing you from skipping every night.
🕎 Custom Player Upgrade System: Unlock achievements to gain random upgrades such as extra inventory slots, extended reach, new parkour tricks, and more.
