RePHIned
A hand-picked, brutally tested "Vanilla Plus" mod pack assembled to provide the most fun and flavor for forever worlds.
Quick answer
Which RePHIned release should I use?
RePHIned 1.1.2 is a complete pack release for 26.2 with Fabric 0.19.3. Install it as its own launcher instance. If the creator publishes a separate server file, make sure it names this exact pack release. 81 mods in this pack file.
Pack setup
How should I set up RePHIned for players and a server?
Use RePHIned 1.1.2 as the pack version. Install the pack as its own launcher instance. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file, so check the release notes before setting up a dedicated server. Do not upload the ordinary client folder blindly.
A pack is a matched client and server setup, not one mod with an install-side label. Keep its release, loader, manifest and overrides together.
These numbers come from the pack file you chose. “Not labelled” means we don’t know which side it belongs on—not that it is safe everywhere. The file count is not a RAM estimate.
What are the server requirements for RePHIned?
RePHIned 1.1.2. Change the pack release and its contents or setup may change too.
The selected pack release is RePHIned 1.1.2. That file is for Minecraft 26.2 with Fabric 0.19.3. It contains 81 mod projects. The creator’s listing does not name a separate server file. Check their notes before using one, and do not upload an ordinary client folder or rebuild the pack mod by mod. A file count cannot tell us the right RAM, CPU or storage; size the server for the players and world you actually run.
About this project
What kind of pack is RePHIned?

Minecraft — RePHIned
A hand-picked, brutally tested "Vanilla Plus" mod pack assembled to provide the most fun and flavor for forever worlds.
About
RePHIned provides utilities, performance improvements, fixes and QoL changes to the game of Minecraft. It does not add nor remove any items, blocks, mobs, or structures, nor does it change the functionality, recipes, or any other part of any of them.
This mod pack was built by me over the course of the last 6 months while playing on my long term world, and as such it is geared towards survival play.
Performance
Due to the use of Distant Horizons and many cosmetic mods, this mod pack might affect your device's performance. While it includes many optimization and performance mods, this is not an optimization or performance-focused pack and should not be treated as such.
I do not recommend playing it on a mobile device such as a Steam Deck or an unplugged laptop.
Mod List
HUD, GUI and Info mods
AppleSkin (squeek502), Boat Item View (50ap5ud5), EffectTimerPlus (NotRyken), Held Item Tooltips (Fuzs), Item Zoomer (iMeeTake), Jade (Snownee), Journeymap (Mysticdrew), Leave My Bars Alone (Fuzs), Map Distance Fix (mrerenk), MapFrontiers (MemeSapiens), Sodium Extra (FlashyReese)
These mods provide a lot more immediate information to the player which is always useful. Includes the best map mod with a powerful addon that allows you to mark and name areas of your world.
Visual Flair mods
3D Skin Layers (tr7zw), Bedrock Hotbar (Bizarre Cube), Continuity (PepperCode1), Dense Flowers (ToBinio), Effectual (iMeeTake), Enchantment Lore (supersaiyansubtlety), Font (MichiJP), LambdaBetterGrass (LambdAurora), NotEnoughAnimations (tr7zw), Particle Tweaks (Lunade), Particular Reforged (Leclowndu93150), Smooth Swapping (Schauweg/Riflusso), Visuality (PinkGoosik), WaveyCapes (tr7zw)
NOTE: Shine and LumaLight have been removed, meaning colored lighting and bloom are no longer a thing outside of shaders. Shine was unknowingly to me made using AI and stolen code, and LumaLight is visually subpar and causes a game crash after world exit save.
These mods add a bunch of subtle visual quirks that Minecraft really, really lacks. They feature new particle effects, animations and other cosmetic detail.
Quality of Life mods
Advancements Reloaded (@42atomys), ClientSort (NotRyken), Configurable Despawn Timer (Rick South), Cubes Without Borders (Kira-NT), Durability Guard (orb1n), Elytra Chestplate Swapper (Saphjyr), Emoji Type (CyborgCabbage/Norbiros), Just Zoom (Keksuccino), Mouse Tweaks (YaLTeR), Mouse Wheelie (Siphalor), Packed Packs (fishstiz), Scribble (chrrrs), Yeetus Experimentus (Sunekaer), Multi Key Bindings (kennybc)
These mods will provide you a lot of useful features that are greatly beneficial in day-to-day play. Better advancement viewing, zooming, rich book editing, inventory shortcuts and sorting, resource pack profiles, configurable item despawn timers, swapping your elytra and chestplate mid-action, and a guard that stops you from accidentally destroying your precious tools.
Sound and Music
Atmosfera (Haven King), CoolRain (Jaiz), Kit Tunes (Pixaurora), SoundsBeGone (Meza), Sounds (IMB11/cassiancc), Sound Physics Perfected (RedLife)
These mods vastly improve Minecraft's sound effects and allow for more granular sound control. Kit Tunes also enables you to tweak Minecraft's music catalogue by removing the songs you dislike.
Performance, Fixes and Other
BadOptimizations (Thosea), Better Block Entities [BBE] (ceeden), Concurrent Chunk Management Engine [c2me] (RelativityMC/ishland), Debugify (isXander), Distant Horizons (A lot of awesome people), Entity Model/Sound/Texture Features (Traben), EntityCulling (tr7zw), FerriteCore (malte0811), ImmediatelyFast (RK_01), Litematica (masa), Lithium (JellySquid/2No2Name), No Chat Reports (Aizistral), OptiGUI (opekope2), ScalableLux (Spottedleaf/ishland), ServerCore (Wesley1808), Sodium (JellySquid) + Various library mods
These mods aim at improving Minecraft's performance and fixing bugs that for one reason or another remain unfixed. They also extend resource pack functionality for more advanced model features and GUI edits. Thanks to Distant Horizons you are also able to view terrain much farther than on vanilla at a much lower performance cost.
Recommended Hardware, Recommended Settings
CPU:
- Desktop AMD: Ryzen 5, 7 or 9, 2nd Generation or newer.
- Desktop Intel: Core i5 9th Gen, i7 or i9 8th Gen or newer.
- Mobile AMD: Ryzen 7 or 9 5th Generation or newer.
- Mobile Intel: Core 12th Generation or newer.
GPU:
- Desktop NVIDIA: GeForce GTX 1070 or better.
- Desktop AMD: Radeon RX 580 or better.
- Desktop Intel: Arc A580 or better.
- Mobile NVIDIA: GeForce RTX 3050 or better.
- Mobile Intel: Arrow Lake or newer / Arc 130V or better.
- Mobile AMD: Radeon 780M or 8060S / RX 7600S or better.
- At least 6 GB of VRAM and Vulkan support strongly recommended.
RAM: At least 16 GB, ideally 24 or 32 GB of System RAM. Recommended to allocate 8 GB to the game.
Storage: Depending on world size. Distant Horizons LOD data can be storage-heavy. Lower LOD quality or LOD render distance to mitigate.
Distant Horizons settings:
- 256 or 512 Render Distance
- Quality Preset: High (4)
- CPU Load: 3-5
- Enable Distant Generation: True
- Logging > Warnings > Show High Vanilla Render Distance Warning: False
Sodium / Graphics settings:
- 12-24 Render Distance
- Clouds: Off (Use Distant Horizons clouds instead to avoid graphical bugs)
- Entity Distance: 500%
- Sodium Extra > Show FPS: Enabled
Sounds, Particles, and other effects should be changed accordingly to personal preference.
Recommended Texture and Data Packs
For a more well-rounded experience, please check out this assortment of Vanilla-friendly texture and data packs:
- Programmer Art Fix (THGABS) — If you are planning to use original Notch textures, this pack is a must-have. It fixes all shortcomings of the Programmer Art texture pack and changes all new textures to fit the old style of the game.
- Emermer's Programmer Art Connected Glass Pack (Emermer) — This old pack will surprisingly still work with Continuity on 26.2. The only caveat is that it does not include Tinted Glass. This pack is available for download from Planet Minecraft.
- Vanilla Tweaks — A well known resource for, well, Vanilla tweaks. https://vanillatweaks.net
- Better Death Drops (seylorx1) — A simple solution to item loss from despawns. Even though the Mod Pack provides a configurable despawn timer, I recommend installing this datapack alongside it to configure your dropped items to despawn at a different pace or not despawn at all. It will also highlight your dropped items with the Glowing effect.
- Bedrock Shulker Shells (MintRefresh) — My preferred alternative to double Shulker Shell drops. It enables using the Looting enchantment to get up to 4 shells from a single Shulker (in practice the chances still come out to about 2 per mob).
- More Jungle Saplings (sepiapages) — Changes Jungle Saplings to drop at a rate of 5% per destroyed leaf, just like every other tree. Why are Jungle trees the only ones that drop sapligs at a rate of 2.5%? Notch knows.
Iris Compatibility
By default, this modpack is incompatible with Iris since it prioritizes the Vulkan API for better overall performance. There is however a method to manually switch to OpenGL and install Iris.
- In the Sodium in-game settings, change
Graphics APItoPrefer OpenGL. - Edit the
minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.tomlfile in your text editor of choice. Change therenderingEnginevariable toOPEN_GL. - Downgrade Sodium to version
0.9.0. - Install Iris.
Keep in mind that certain shader packs are incompatible with Iris, Sodium or Distant Horizons. I will not provide support regarding shader pack compatibility. I personally recommend BSL, OPAL, Miniature and Rethinking Voxels shaders.
Common Problems and Solutions
Help! Minecraft uses 30+GB of RAM! (Linux + AMD GPU)
This is caused by the AMD drivers on devices with large amounts of system RAM installed. Basically, by default, the GPU will allocate up to half of your system RAM for processing uses, which on my 64GB device amounted up to 48GB total at times (32GB GPU buffer + 16GB allocated by the game).
To prevent this, edit or create the file /etc/modprobe.d/amdgpu.conf (using root privileges). Add or change the variable gtt_size to desired buffer size in MiB - I recommend matching your GPU's VRAM. For example, with my 8GB graphics card, I will input options amdgpu gtt_size=8192. A 4GB card user will change it to 4096, a 16GB card user will change it to 16384, and so on. After this, restart your computer, and hopefully your game will not use insane amounts of memory anymore.
Help! I have some other problem!
Well, don't we all! Oh, you meant, regarding the pack. Please create an Issue on GitHub and I will try to guide you to fix it or push an update that does! https://github.com/lnphi/mc-rephined-issue-tracker/issues
