About this project

What does SIMPLE HARDCORE MODE add?

Hardcore Mode

This mod was created to add real consequences to death within the world.

Its mechanics are simple: upon entering a world with the mod active, the player will have their health and stamina reduced by 50%. Since Hytale's default value is 100 health and 100 stamina, the character will have only 50 health and 50 stamina, making survival much more challenging.

The main mechanic of the mod occurs when the player dies.

Upon detecting death, the mod uses internal Hytale API functions to kick the player from the world. In multiplayer worlds, if the host dies, all connected players will be disconnected, and the world will be permanently locked from new entries as long as the mod is installed.

To record the death, the mod automatically creates a JSON file containing information such as:

  • Player name.
  • Date of death.
  • Time of death.
  • World state.
  • Save lock information.

This file serves purely as a record and reference for the player.

Even if the file is manually deleted, the mod will still know that the world has ended. If the player removes the mod, enters the world again, and continues playing normally, reinstalling the mod will verify the save state and automatically recreate the file.

In other words, the JSON file is not responsible for locking the world. It exists merely to document the event.

After a death occurs in a Hardcore world, the challenge is considered over. The only way to continue playing normally is to remove the mod. As long as it is installed, the world will remain locked, preserving the original concept of Hardcore mode.
