Shaman Totem Performance Update

The Endless Shaman mod has received an important performance optimization.

You will be able to move your totems from the hotbar into your normal inventory. They will stay there while you are using the Shaman class, but they will still be removed automatically when you switch to another class.

What was the problem?

Previously, the mod contained around 1,500 scaling totem item files. Separate totem variants had been created for almost every player level and every Shaman progression tier, even though the totems were only intended to become stronger every 10 levels. This caused the server to register and load hundreds of unnecessary duplicate items during startup.

What changed?

Totems now only use the intended level stages: Level 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 The optimized version now contains:

  • 165 scaling totem variants
  • 172 total registered totem items
  • More than 1,300 unnecessary item files removed

The strength and progression of the totems have not been reduced. Only unnecessary duplicate files were removed.

Server Performance

Because the server now has far fewer items to register and load, the Shaman system creates significantly less startup load. This should help reduce:

  • Server startup time
  • Item registration load
  • Memory usage caused by duplicate totems
  • Overall strain from the Shaman mod

Totem Tiers: T0–T4

The different totem tiers are automatically selected based on the player's current Shaman progression.

Players do not need to craft or find the different tier versions. After unlocking and selecting the next Shaman class, the mod automatically gives the player the correct totem tier.

Totem Names Explained

A totem named: L050_T2 means:

  • L050: Totem strength for Level 50
  • T2: Spirit Binder progression tier

Updating Existing Totems

Existing totems should automatically be replaced with the correct optimized versions. In case a player still has outdated totems after changing their class or reaching a new level stage, use: /shamitotems This refreshes the player's totems based on their current level and Shaman tier.

The new totems are here! Some totems are still using placeholder models, and their final 3D designs will be added later. The Golem, Fire, and Ice Totems are finished for now.

Endless Shaman – FIX

This update introduces a new, simplified damage scaling system for the Fire and Ice Totems. The previous scaling system was unnecessarily large and difficult to maintain. It has now been replaced with a much lighter and more stable system using 11 predefined level ranges instead of hundreds of individual level variants.

🔥 Fire Totem

  • Damage now scales from Level 1 to Level 100.
  • Maximum damage has been reduced and rebalanced.
  • Maximum damage at Level 100 and the highest class tier: 350 damage per tick.

❄️ Ice Totem

  • Damage now scales from Level 1 to Level 100.
  • Maximum damage has been adjusted for better balancing.
  • Maximum damage at Level 100 and the highest class tier: 250 damage per tick.

⚙️ New Lightweight Scaling System

The Totems now use the following level steps: 1 → 10 → 20 → 30 → 40 → 50 → 60 → 70 → 80 → 90 → 100 Levels between these values automatically use the next available damage tier. This significantly reduces the number of required damage effects and projectile assets while keeping the Totem damage progression consistent.

🛡️ Additional Improvements

  • Removed the unstable experimental Java damage system.
  • Fire and Ice Totems now use Hytale’s native damage-effect system again.
  • No mandatory Endless Leveling dependency.
  • Reduced unnecessary assets and improved maintainability.
  • Rebalanced Totem damage to prevent excessively high damage per tick.
  • Players remain excluded from Fire and Ice Totem damage.

This update focuses on stability, performance and more reasonable Totem balancing.

Endless_Schamane adds a fully playable Shaman class to the Endless class system, focused on elemental totems, support power, area control, and scaling class progression. This mod is built as a standalone Shaman class addon and does not require the old ShamanTotem mod.

🔥 Totem Abilities

When selecting Shaman as your primary class, the totems are automatically placed into your hotbar.

Totems are not normal items and are not meant to be crafted.
They work as Shaman class abilities.


📈 Level Scaling

The Shaman’s totems scale with class level up to level 100.

Fire and Ice Totems tick every second while active.
The Healing Totem also heals every second while players stay inside its radius.

❄️ Ice Totem

A control-based damage totem that weakens enemies with frost.

  • Starts at 0.5 DPS
  • Scales up to 15 DPS at level 100
  • Applies a slow effect
  • Benefits from class stage multipliers

💚 Healing Totem

A support totem that heals nearby players over time.

  • Starts at 20 total healing
  • Scales up to 80 total healing at level 100
  • Ticks every second
  • Benefits from class stage multipliers
  • Healing is capped for balance

🌍 Earthbinding Totem

A pure crowd-control totem.

  • Applies a strong slow effect
  • Does not scale with level
  • Does not deal damage
  • Designed for area control and enemy management

⚔️ Playstyle

The Shaman is a hybrid support and control class. You can burn enemies with Fire Totem, slow them with Ice and Earthbinding Totems, and support your group with Healing Totem. The class becomes stronger with level and class progression, making it useful in both solo and group gameplay. The Shaman is especially useful for:

  • Dungeon groups
  • Area control
  • Support gameplay
  • Defensive fights
  • Long encounters
  • Team-based content

📦 Installation

  1. Download the mod file.
  2. Place it into your server's mods folder.
  3. Restart the server.
  4. Select Shaman in the Endless class menu.
  5. The totem abilities will appear automatically in the hotbar.
