GlymeraBees
Working honey bees for Hytale! Bees pollinate flowers and fill their hive with honey. Harvest honeycombs, brew healing honey bottles, craft candles in 11 flower-dyed colors — and build flying machines with sticky honey blocks.

What is GlymeraBees? GlymeraBees adds real, working honey bees to Hytale. Craft a beehive, place it, and three chunky bees move in: they fly out, pick a flower nearby, hover over it to collect pollen — you can literally see the pollen dust on their fur — then fly home and deliver. The hive visibly fills with honey, level by level, and everything you harvest feeds a complete little economy: honeycombs, healing honey bottles, wax, candles in 11 flower-dyed colors, and honey blocks with real gameplay properties. Everything runs on the server — players don't need to install anything.
The bees
- Each hive houses 3 bees with buzzing wings, gentle bobbing flight and a cute plop sound whenever one enters or leaves the hive.
- Bees work a ~12 block radius around their hive and target the flowers that actually grow there.
- After ~20 seconds of pollinating a bee flies home dusted in pollen and raises the hive's honey level (0–5) — visible on the block as growing honey drips.
- At night the bees stay inside. When no player is around, the whole hive pauses and resumes seamlessly — nothing is lost, nothing runs behind your back, and it all survives server restarts.
- Breaking a hive packs its bees up with it. Place it somewhere else and they come right back out.
The Beehive
- Crafted at the Farming Bench (Decorative tab): 1 decorative Hive + 10 Life Essence. Look for the golden wax seal that marks a working hive.
- A full hive automatically converts its honey into 3 Honeycombs and stores them in its built-in 9-slot buffer, then starts collecting again. If the buffer is full, the hive waits — nothing is thrown away.
- Press F to open the buffer like a small chest — or click the hive with Shears to collect everything at once. Shears can never break a hive, so harvesting is always safe. (Shears are the vanilla tool: 1 iron bar at the Farming Bench.)
Automation The hive buffer is a real container. Anything that can talk to a chest can talk to a hive:
- GlymeraBluestone hoppers and pipes pull honeycombs out automatically — build a fully AFK honey farm.
- The Bluestone comparator reads the buffer's fill level.
- Crafting benches in range see the buffer contents like any chest. GlymeraBluestone is optional — without it, shears and the F window work exactly the same.
The honey economy
- Honey Bottle: 3 Honeycombs + 1 empty large flask (Farming Bench). Drinking restores 50% of your health and returns the empty flask. Empty flasks are vanilla: smelt sand into a flask, combine two at the Alchemy Bench.
- Wax Comb: drip the honey out of 1 Honeycomb (Farming Bench) — the raw material for candles.
- Wax Candles in 11 colors: 2 Wax Combs make a white candle at the Furniture Bench (Lighting tab). Add 1 flower and the candle takes its color — ten flower colors, the same flowers your bees visit. Real flame, real light, press F to blow a candle out and light it again.
- Honeycomb Block: 4 Honeycombs — a rich decorative comb block.
- Honey Block: 4 Honeycombs — walking on it slows you down and dampens your jumps, and landing on it softens fall damage by 80%. A honey landing pad, complete with squishy sounds.
Flying machines (with GlymeraBluestone v116+) Honey blocks are sticky for pistons: a pushed honey block drags every touching movable block along, honey chains to honey, and sticky pistons pull the whole assembly back — Minecraft-style flying machines and moving platforms, built from bees.
Admin & config
- /gbees shows the nearest hive's honey level, buffer and what every bee is doing right now; /gbees fill and /gbees empty test the visuals; /gbees reload applies config changes live. All commands are OP-only.
- config.json: bees per hive, flight speed, pollination and rest timings, flower search radius, activity radius, day/night threshold, honey block slow/jump/fall factors and more.
Good to know
- Bees are ambient-cheap: hives without a player nearby cost effectively nothing.
- The plugin is standalone and server-side only. GlymeraBluestone is an optional companion for automation and flying machines.
