About this project
What does Averion Ambient (Discontinued) add?
Discontinued due to vanilla support via Volume Boxes
Region-based ambient music for Hytale servers. Define areas in the world, assign playlists to them, and the mod plays the right music automatically as players move around — no manual triggering.
Regions
- Mark a zone with
/ambient pos1and/ambient pos2, then/ambient create <name>to turn it into a music region. Music plays while a player is inside its bounds. - A region can hold several tracks; the mod picks between them at random instead of looping one file.
- Regions overlap freely by world — if a player isn't inside any region, a per-world fallback playlist plays instead.
- Volume is adjustable per region and per world (0–100%).
Custom music
Music is just .ogg files dropped into the mod's data folder. A file watcher picks up new or changed tracks on its own, so there's no need to restart the server after adding music.
Admin UI
Regions and world playlists can be created, edited and removed through an in-game panel — /ambient admin — instead of commands or config files.
Other
/ambient visualize <name>shows a region's boundaries in-world so you can check them before relying on them./ambient listand/ambient info <name>for an overview of existing regions.- If AverionPlots is installed, plot worlds show up as suggestions when picking a world for a playlist. Not required — manual world names work regardless.
- Ships with two demo tracks so the system can be tested right after installing.
