NCS88 Workshop

NCS88 Workshop introduces a realistic equipment maintenance and repair system for Hytale. Inspect your gear, identify damaged components, and restore tools, weapons, and armor at a dedicated workshop bench.

Equipment condition is more than a number: worn tools become less effective, damaged weapons deal less damage, and individual components require appropriate materials to repair.

Features

Dedicated Workshop Bench

Craft and place your own workshop bench to maintain your equipment. Its design matches Hytale’s visual style and features a distinctive shield with a crossed hammer and sword.

The bench can be crafted early in your adventure using accessible materials, including Light Hide.

Interactive Workshop Interface

Open the workshop to access a dedicated maintenance interface with:

A drag-and-drop equipment slot.
Your inventory and hotbar.
Current durability and equipment condition.
Detailed component diagnostics.
Required repair materials.
Inspect, Service, and Repair Component actions.

Any equipment left in the workshop is automatically returned when you close the interface.

Component-Based Damage

Equipment develops specific faults as it wears down. Depending on the item, these may include:

Blunted pickaxe heads and weapon blades.
Loose bindings and fittings.
Stressed or damaged handles.
Misaligned sword guards.
Damaged armor components.
Worn grips, straps, and other equipment parts.

Heavily worn equipment can develop multiple faults, each requiring individual attention.

Material-Aware Repairs

Repairs require materials that match the equipment and its damaged component.

Crude tools may need Stone Rubble, Sticks, or Plant Fibre, while more advanced equipment can require materials such as leather, wooden planks, or metal bars.

Each successful repair restores the affected component and improves the item’s durability.

Service and Maintenance

Use the Service option to maintain equipment before its condition becomes critical. Preventive maintenance helps keep your gear usable, while severely damaged items require proper component repairs.

Durability Affects Performance

Equipment condition directly affects its effectiveness:

90–100% condition: 100% effectiveness.
70–89% condition: 95% effectiveness.
40–69% condition: 80% effectiveness.
15–39% condition: 60% effectiveness.
Below 15% condition: 40% effectiveness.

Worn tools deal less damage to blocks, while worn weapons deal less damage to enemies. Repairing your equipment restores its full effectiveness.
