About this project

What does Arcane Resonance add?

Arcane Resonance

Ancient technology. Forbidden magic. The freedom to roam.

Long ago, the Arcane Scholars uncovered a way to fold the distance between places. Their experiments produced a portable relic whose silver rings stirred with a forbidden magic, channeling a peculiar force they named resonance.

The art was lost. The relics were forgotten.

Until now.

With an Arcane Resonance relic in hand, a traveler can attune to a home base, seek out the nearest registered camp, or establish a connection with another traveler. No spoken commands are required. Simply choose a destination, hold your focus, and allow the relic to do the rest.

What the relic can do

  • Return Home: Attune your relic to your home base and resonate back when your travels take you far afield.
  • Find Camp: Translocate to the nearest registered vanilla Hytale camp.
  • Reach a Friend: Establish resonance with another traveler when you both carry a relic.
  • Travel without commands: Choose your destination through the relic’s in-game directory.
  • Residual Resonance: Safe Passage briefly shields travelers from hazards after arrival.
  • Perform the ritual: Maintain your concentration through a five-second cast as the relic’s rings and magical effects come alive.
  • Recharge between journeys: After a successful translocation, the relic must replenish its energy before it can resonate again.

A warning from the Arcane Scholars

Translocation requires an unwavering mind. The relic’s energy must converge upon its destination, and the traveler must maintain concentration throughout the ritual.

The scholars observed that distractions could interrupt this delicate process, leaving the traveler precisely where they began. They named the phenomenon Nonconvergent Oscillatory Planar Entanglement.

Their surviving notes suggest that a lapse in concentration is responsible, though the precise cause remains a subject of scholarly debate.

Travelers, being rather less interested in terminology, have given it a simpler name:

N.O.P.E.

For server administrators

The relic’s mysteries may be ancient, but its rules can be adapted to suit your world.

Configuration

Arcane Resonance includes a cooldown.properties configuration file.

Setting Default Description
cooldownSeconds 900 Time in seconds required for the relic to recharge after a successful translocation. The default is 15 minutes. Set to 0 to disable the recharge delay.
safePassageSeconds 1.0 Duration in seconds that Residual Resonance protects the traveler from damage immediately after a successful translocation. Supports decimal values such as 1.5. Set to 0 to disable Safe Passage protection.

Permissions

Permission Default Description
arcaneresonance.use Enabled Allows players to use the relic.
arcaneresonance.craft Enabled Allows players to craft the relic.

Both permissions are enabled for players by default. Server administrators may deny either permission independently.

The world is vast. Your time in it is precious. Rediscover the art of resonance, and let the next journey begin.
