About this project

What does Pocket Bots add?

PocketBots

Tiny robot companions that follow you around, cheer you on and make you a little stronger.

PocketBots adds nine small, cute robots to Hytale. Each one lives in a capsule. Find capsules in chests around the world, open them to wake a bot with random bonuses, then take it along on your adventures. Every bot beeps, wobbles after you and now and then shares a thought in a little bubble above its head.

How it works

Finding capsules

You can't craft capsules. They show up as loot in vanilla chests in dungeons, ruins and other structures. Higher-tier chests drop capsules more often and of better rarity:

Chest tier Capsule chance Common Uncommon Rare Epic Legendary
Low 5% 75% 22% 3% – –
Medium 7% 55% 30% 12% 3% –
High 9% 40% 32% 19% 8% 1%
Very high 12% 35% 28% 20% 12% 5%

Opening a capsule

Right-click a sealed capsule to wake the bot inside. You get a random bot type, a random name such as "Bolt-7" and a set of rolled bonuses. The capsule's icon then shows which bot lives in it, and its tooltip lists every bonus.

Rarity

Rarer capsules give more bonuses with higher values:

Rarity Random bonuses Bonus strength
Common 1 tier I
Uncommon 2 tier I–II
Rare 2 tier II–III
Epic 3 tier III–IV
Legendary 3 tier IV–V

From Epic upward, the special abilities also get stronger.

Fusion

Put two sealed capsules of the same rarity together at the Workbench (Tinkering) to fuse them into one sealed capsule of the next rarity. Fusion is the only way to upgrade.

Deploying your bot

Right-click a bot capsule to spawn your bot, and right-click again to pack it up. One bot can be out at a time. While it is out:

  • it follows you everywhere, in Survival and in Creative,
  • its bonuses apply to you,
  • your active bot is shown next to the hotbar,
  • your active bonuses are shown as icons on the left edge of the screen; hover them for details,
  • it beeps happily in one of five droid-style voices and sometimes has a funny thought.

Everything about your bot is stored in the capsule itself, so you can store it, carry it and trade it like any other item.

Meet the bots

Beep: the all-rounder

The classic PocketBot. Beep has no special trick, but it rolls one extra random bonus compared to every other bot. Pick Beep if you just want the most stats.

Digby: the miner

A little digging bot that loves fresh ore. Digby always gives +10% mining speed on top of its random bonuses.

Lugg: the pack bot

Lugg carries a chest on its back. Press the use key on Lugg to open it: 18 slots, or 27 from Epic. The contents stay inside the capsule, so they travel with Lugg when you pack it up. Lugg won't let you pack it up while it still holds items, and capsules don't fit in its chest.

Spark: the protector

Spark always gives +3% damage. When something attacks you, or you attack something, Spark runs over and zaps it every second: 4 damage, 6 from Epic. Spark only fights creatures, never players.

Patch: the medic

Patch always gives +5 max health. Out of combat (5 seconds without taking damage), Patch heals you by 1 health every 5 seconds, or 2 from Epic.

Glimmer: the lantern

Glimmer has a glowing bulb for a head and lights up its surroundings like a torch. It's a great friend for nights and caves.

Magno: the collector

Magno's magnet pulls dropped items within 6 blocks to you, or 10 blocks from Epic. You never miss loot again.

Zippy: the flyer

A tiny flying bot that always gives +4% speed and halves your fall damage.

Sizzle: the cook

Sizzle puts a fresh snack in your inventory every 5 minutes, or every 3 from Epic. If your inventory is full, Sizzle lets you know.
