Coinage keeps every balance on your server in one ledger and builds the other modules on it. Players get a wallet page, a balance HUD and /pay. You get shops, an auction house, banks, a casino and rewards that all move the same money, and every one of them is a module you can switch off. Players need no client mod.

The ledger

Accounts for players, the treasury, a town or a shop till. Any number of currencies, amounts kept in whole units so nothing drifts, and a record of who moved what, why and through which plugin. Every move hits a journal on disk first, so a crash loses nothing. Admins can look up and reverse any transaction, and /coinage report shows the money supply, the treasury and where money came from, day by day.

What is on it

  • /pay with a confirmation for large payments, an optional tax, daily limit and cooldown.
  • Banknotes and coins as items players carry and trade. Each note has a serial, so a duplicate pays once.
  • Server banks with tiers and interest, banks players run themselves, loans backed by savings, a credit score and joint accounts.
  • Admin shops with stock and optional prices that follow demand, player shops in a directory, NPC vendors, /sell all.
  • An auction house with listings, auctions with a buyout, buy orders and a mailbox.
  • Face to face trades of items and coins that reset Ready on any change.
  • Coinflip, dice, slots, blackjack, roulette and a lottery with a house edge you set, loss limits and self exclusion.
  • A daily login streak, pay per hour played, and rewards for kills, blocks and votes.

Every timing, limit and built in item is a key in Coinage.json, and every sentence players see is in messages.json. /coinage config changes settings in game, and most apply on /coinage reload.

Commands

Command What it does
/wallet The wallet page, with a button for every module
/pay player amount Pay someone, online or not
/baltop The richest players
/bank, /shop, /ah, /trade player, /casino, /daily Each module's page
/coinage give player amount Create money and pay it in
/coinage status Accounts, money in circulation, modules and links

Admin commands need coinage.admin. Player commands are open to everyone until you set permissions.required. Coming from EconomyAPI, run /coinage import economyapi once, then remove it, since both register /balance and /pay.

With my other mods

Coinage registers as the VaultUnlocked economy, so any plugin built on VaultUnlocked uses the same ledger. Chronicle Stats gets a Money page and a Money card for each player. Dominion Factions keeps wallets in Coinage and turns faction banks into shared accounts. Feats can pay coins as feat rewards, and Atlas can show players their own wallet. With TrackerAPI kills and blocks pay rewards and money earned and spent becomes a stat with a leaderboard. PlaceholderAPI gets the balance, rank, top players and bank savings as placeholders. All optional.

Plugin authors compile against Coinage-api.jar, attached to every file, and get a service per module, cancellable events, daily reports and net worth.

Limits

Needs server 0.7.0 or newer and Java 25. Coinage has a large test suite and has run headless next to VaultUnlocked, PlaceholderAPI and TrackerAPI, but it has not run on a busy server yet. NPC vendors and mailbox delivery on join are the parts I am least sure of. Tell me on Discord if something misbehaves.
