CurseForge · Hytale mod
Debris
Block physics library: blocks rip out of the ground, fly in 3D and land again. Built for tornadoes and storms (For Extreme Weather mod) with an easy API for modders.
Quick answer
Which Debris release should I use?
Debris-0.3.0-beta.jar targets 0.7. Do not install it as a separate client mod. Enable it on the world host—the local server in singleplayer or the dedicated server in multiplayer. No required dependencies listed for this file.
Where it goes
Where should Debris be installed in Hytale?
Do not install it as a separate client mod. Enable it on the world host—the local server in singleplayer or the dedicated server in multiplayer.
Put Hytale mods on the world host or dedicated server. Singleplayer runs a local server too; Hytale does not use separate client mods.
What else does Debris-0.3.0-beta.jar need?
Debris-0.3.0-beta.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
This file does not list any required mods. Do not add a library just because a different file uses it.
This file does not list any required or optional project dependencies. Check the creator notes before changing an existing world.

About this project
What does Debris add?
ENGLISH (US)
Blocks that fly. Debris is a block physics library for Hytale: blocks are ripped out of the world, fly through the air as real 3D blocks, spin, tumble... and land again as blocks.
It's the engine behind the tornadoes and hurricanes coming to my mod Extreme Weather, and any modder can use it in their own mods (as a required mod).
WHAT IT DOES?
- Rips blocks out of the ground and turns them into real flying 3D blocks.
- Whirlwinds: blocks rise out of the ground, spin in a funnel, tumble in the air and get flung out.
- Smart landing: every block finds its own free spot, crushes the grass or bush below it and lands the right way up. No ghost blocks, no blocks inside each other.
- Strength levels: a weak wind only takes leaves; a medium one also takes dirt, grass, sand and gravel; only the strongest rips out wood and tree trunks. Stone, ores, chests and benches are never touched.
- Smooth: 200 flying blocks at once with no lag in my tests. There is a limit you can change for smaller servers.
TRY IT
/debris test [blocks] [strength 1-3] – a whirlwind around you (example: /debris test 100 2)
/debris drop – drops every flying block right now
⚙️ CONFIG
A debris.properties file is created on first launch:
- maxFlying – most blocks in the air at once (default 300)
- test.seconds – how long the test whirlwind lasts
🛠️ FOR MODDERS
Add MingoCreator:Debris as a dependency and use the API (always from the world thread, for example inside world.execute):
Debris.launch(world, x, y, z, velocity) – throw one block; it lands and is placed back
Debris.lift(world, x, y, z) – lift a block and steer it yourself (setVelocity, then release)
Debris.vortex(world, center, strength, seconds).addArea(radius, maxBlocks) – a whirlwind
Debris.dropAll(world) – drop everything
Resistance.of(blockType) – how hard a block is to rip out (0-3)
🔮 COMING NEXT
- Explosions that throw blocks into the air
- Small things (torches, plants, furniture) dropped as items when they land
- A JSON list so other mods can say which of their blocks can fly and how strong they are
- Tornadoes and hurricanes in Extreme Weather, powered by Debris
🛠️ STATUS: BETA
It works, but it's still in active development. Please report anything strange in the comments!

Debris.lift(world, x, y, z) – levanta un bloque y dirígelo tú (setVelocity y luego release)
Debris.vortex(world, centro, fuerza, segundos).addArea(radio, maxBloques) – un remolino
Debris.dropAll(world) – suelta todo
