Buildcraft-Legacy
A port of buildcraft with new textures, new features and a feeling of nostalgia
Quick answer
Which Buildcraft-Legacy release should I use?
Buildcraft-Legacy buildcraft-1.1.9.jar targets 1.21.1 with NeoForge. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is Buildcraft-Legacy required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does Buildcraft-Legacy buildcraft-1.1.9.jar need?
buildcraft-1.1.9.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Porting Dead Libs first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup.
We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

What does Buildcraft-Legacy add?
This port is unofficial. The original buildcraft is licensed under MPL 2.0 just like this mod. No code/assets were reused.

About
This project, originally created for Modfest 2024, is an attempt at porting Buildcraft, step-by-step. This is why the mod only has a handful of features right now, but will be expanded gradually. The mod is not a 1:1 replica of the Buildcraft mod, but still very faithful. I decided to also include features from other old mods, that people used a lot with buildcraft like the Factorization Barrels.
The mod is still in its early stages and prone to bugs.
Roadmap
For anyone interested, here is a rough content roadmap:
- Item Pipes, Crates, Tanks, Oil - Initial Release
- Engines (Redstone, Stirling, Combustion, Creative) < Current
- Pump/Quarry
- Fluid Pipes
- Lasers
- Advanced filters
- …
Note that there is no ETA for any of these features, as I maintain and develop a lot of mods, which means the time I have to work on this, may vary strongly.
