About this project

What does AstroTweaks add?

Hi!

I think this mod will complement almost any modpack and will simply add features to improve quality of life (QoL).

Feel free to use it or suggest ideas on what I should add!

A brief overview of what the mod adds:

🌲1. Various tweaks and gameplay improvements to make the experience better. In particular:

  • Village generation in snowy and forest biomes.
  • More fuel and vanilla recipes.
  • A special "Nature's Power" module that will breathe life into your world!
(currently only supports grass growth in the world over time, as well as the transformation of blocks into their mossy variants, but more mechanics are planned for the future)

1.1. Additional content for the vanilla game to make it more complete and interesting:

  • Classic Rubies and Emeralds at your disposal!
  • The ability to craft chainmail armor (why not?).
  • The ability to stack some items in stacks of 8, allowing you to store 8 stacks of an item in 1 slot.
  • A touch of primitiveness, if the usual early-game routine has become boring.
  • A deep layer below Y0! (you will need to mine the bedrock at the bottom of the world with a pickaxe).
  • Added Mines and mined blocks (inspired by SecurityCraft).

⚙️2. Content for modpacks and mod integrations:

  • A variety of items, components, and blocks for use in modpacks.
  • Expansion of OreDict tags for various items and blocks to make creating modpacks with this mod a bit easier.
  • Many coins of different denominations for implementing simple monetary systems.
  • Quartz generation in the overworld to make this resource available early in the game.
  • Special game mechanics and devices. For example:
-- Realistic block breaking - you won't be able to break wood or stone with your bare hands (disableable in the config).
-- (In)edible raw meat - Better cook it, or you risk food poisoning!
  • High-tech sci-fi things! For example:
-- Dimenional Ark (allows free teleportation to any location in any dimension).
-- Teleportation Suppressor (prevents any spatial teleportation in a configurable area).
  • Mirage Block: a phantom block that mimics another block and disappears upon interaction; obtain it via the command /give @s astrotweaks:mirage_a 1 0 {target:"minecraft:grass"}
  • Multiverse: parallel, isolated worlds (Universes) with different seeds, their own untouched chunks and set of dimensions. You can join the multiverse using the command /mv join <Universe_ID> (opt)<DimID> (opt)<target_seed> or with "Trans-Dimensional Ark".

2.1. There is also content for mod integration:

  • Food Spoiling (rotten food).
  • Avaritia (tools and singularities).
  • Sapphire armor for Galacticraft.
  • Other small things.

2.2. This mod also implements ideas from other mods (and replaces them):

  • Snow Villages. (+ Forest Villages)
  • Better Smelting.
  • Ex Compressum (currently only compressed blocks).
  • No Tree Punching (hand saws for wood and special planks for crafting).
  • No Red Flash (no red tint on entities when taking damage).
  • Step Up (allows you to step up onto blocks without jumping).
  • No Potion Icons, which removes effect icons from the top-right corner.

2.3 And improves quality of life:

  • Gravestone - added a feature to delete the death paper when you throw it away. No more clutter!

🎨3. Various decorations and icons for different purposes.

💻4. Handy and useful commands for developers and regular Minecraft players.
📖 For example:

  • /gm — change game mode. Accepts parameters: 0,1,2,3 and s,c,a,se.
  • /rsummon — can summon multiple entities at once. Syntax: "/rsummon <entity_id> [x y z] [count] {nbt}".
  • /dim — teleport between dimensions. Syntax: "/dim <dimID> <playerName|@s> [x y z]|<playerName>".
  • /deaths — will show each player's death count in the sidebar.
  • /ckill — which functions like self /kill but also resets the player's spawn point and forcibly sends them to the Overworld
  • /give @s astrotweaks:xp_box 1 0 {xp:10,levels:True} — gives an experience box with 10 levels.
  • /atv get|set <variable_name> — get/set the value of a mod variable for the session (useful for debugging and for quickly changing a parameter without restarting the game).

##📝 Many elements can be configured in the configuration file.
