About this project
What does PSball's Plant Breeding add?
The Plant Breeding mod, as the name suggests, lets you selectively breed plants together for fruit color (seen in all fruit), flower color (seen in apples and all flowers), and flavors (seen in all fruit). In addition to breeding for traits, you can also remove the poison from poisonous potatoes and breed two hybrids. This mod also lets you craft all flowers into dyes and adds multicolored dyes, which can be split using the Dye Splitter. In addition to all this, it adds food like cheese, cheese pizza, and popcorn. The mod adds short corn that you can breed into solid, tall corn that you can make a corn maze with. Finally, the mod adds a new biome called the Plant Meadow, where you can find wild plants to breed.
Update Log
1.0.0 - Release; Crops and Diversity Update
- Added 2 colors and 2 flavors of apples
- Added 2 colors and 3 flavors of blueberries
- Added 8 colors of pansies
- Added the Plant Meadow Biome
- Added an achievement for breeding all the pansy colors
- Added Slightly Sweet, Sweet, and Very Sweet flavors
Every plant as of 1.0
1.1.0 - Processing Death Update
- Added 2 colors of Ghostflowers
- Added 15 colors of roses (which also happen to have the first higher than 16x16 pixel definition by having 32x32 definition, as 16x16 wouldn’t work for combining all 8 colors into the ultimate rainbow rose)
- Fixed a glitch where planting a pink pansy seed would grow a purple pansy
- Added an achievement for breeding all the rose colors, then proceeding to breed all those colors together to make an actually legit rainbow rose
Every plant as of 1.1
1.2.0 - Crops Update II
- Gave the flowers a use: Crafting them into dyes
- Made a Dye Splitter that you can use to split the multicolored dyes
- (mostly) fixed a glitch where all default plants would generate 1 block underground, replacing it with a glitch where all default plants would sometimes spawn floating on air or water
- Fixed a glitch where almost all plants would take time to break (all Minecraft plants aside from cacti, bamboo, and leaves break instantly) and apple leaves take too long to break
- Added 1 color and 1 flavor of huckleberries
- Added 1 color and 1 flavor of Ametrineberries, which can only be obtained by breeding Very Sweet Blue 2 blueberries and huckleberries; and restore the entire hunger bar, as well as gives 20 saturation, due to being extremely sweet/tasty
- Added Uber Sweet flavor
- Gave Poisonous Potatoes a use (other than the “A ‘Balanced’ Diet” achievement): Breeding them with normal potatoes to make normal potatoes
- Added 2 colors of apple flowers that mature into the 2 flavors and 2 colors of apple fruits
- Added Savory and Bitter flavors
- Added 1 color and 1 flavor of Tomatoes
- Added Cheese, created by smelting a Milk Bucket in a Furnace
- Added Cheese Pizza, which can be crafted with Bread, Tomato, and Cheese
/Added a game rule to make development go by faster, “doNaturalProcesses”, which toggles day-night cycle, weather cycle, and mob spawning
- Added 1 color and 1 flavor of Totatoes, which can be obtained by breeding Savory Red 1 Tomatoes and Potatoes (raw, not poisonous)
- Added an achievement for breeding a Totato, raising it to maturity, and harvesting it
Every plant as of 1.2
1.3.0 - Popular Crops Update
- Fixed the replacement glitch added in the Crops Update II (1.2) where plants would occasionally spawn floating in the air or on water, now plants spawn purely on the grass (I did this by adding duplicate plants that were in the “Plant” category instead of the “Block” category in MCreator. You can obtain these using commands if you want, just be warned that if you get rid of the plant in your inventory, you will need to run the command again to get them back; and they are named “Natural (plant name)(s)”.)
/ This will not have any visible, audible, or any effects on gameplay at all, but any new plants I’m adding will be created in the “Plant” category instead of the “Block” category in MCreator.
- Added 2 heights, 1 flavor, and 1 color of Corn (Maize if you’re not from the United States)
- Added 1 height, flavor, and color of Soybean (obtained by breeding Tall Corn and Short Corn; I don’t how it works either, they just look similar and I couldn’t think of any traits to breed into soybeans I quess)
- Added an achievement for breeding Soybeans
- Added universal stage 1 textures for real life plant groups: Eudicots, Monocots, Conifers, Cycads, Ferns, Bryophytes, and Algae (plant stage 1 textures added before this change have not been modified)
- Added 8 colors of Cotton
1.3.1
- Fixed a glitch where Maze spawns naturally and Cotton doesn’t
