About this project

What does LycanitesTweaks add?

Addon mod for 1.12 Lycanites Mobs that expands upon the base experience and provides fixes. The main focus is on how you can interact with pets and minions and how the world can provide the resources in order to do so.

Features:

Creature Interaction

  • Existing items have been given additional usages to encourage general discovery and preperation
  • Grounded creatures can be tamed with their basic diet as described in their beastiary entry. Their diet is normally used as the healing item for non Soulbounds as those never passively regenerated.
  • Grounded creatures can be mounted with the vanilla saddle, however they must reach a certain level and can not use their mount ability. A handful of charges is needed but not an overwhelming amount.
  • Expanded a bug-now-feature so that all tamed mobs gain Variant stats boosts instead of only Soulbounds
  • Swapped the HP and Damage level boost scaling for tamed mobs and bosses in order to change the gameplay pacing. Vanilla Lycanites emphasizes hp in the default stat distribution.

Imperfect Summoning

  • The Knowledge 2 requirement system has been replaced with a more gradual interactive system instead of purely being based on time and kills.
  • Minions can now be summoned upon discovery, however they spawn with crippled stats and are sometimes spawned as hostile.
  • Gaining knowledge experience with rank 1 will decrease the stat reductions until rank 2, where normal minions are spawned.
  • Rank 2 knowledge is also used as a reward as Variants will have increased stats like wild ones.

Item Tweaks

  • Summoning Staffs now have a leveling system similar to the one with tamed creatures. Use the Equipment Infuser in order to attach a charge and level up its designated elements, minions who have one of the elements will spawn stronger.
  • Equipment Forge weapons/tools can now be enchanted with melee and tool enchantments, mending even works! All parts are required to be level 3 however.
  • Soulgazer has mod compatibility with Baubles. You can equip and use a keybind to right click while holding any item without needing it to be on your hotbar. Additionally you can soulgazer a pet to gain a small buff if the beastiary stats page describes it.

Loot Additions

  • New loot tables to help generally distribute charges as the Nether and Void elements were far more easy to grind with entire dimensions for them.
  • Every creature drops random charges based on their elements, count is based on their level to thematically match how a player gives charges in order to level up pets.
  • Reworked generic Red Healthbar bosses to be consistent with Rare Variant Green Healthbar bosses, they now have the same stats and have a new loot table.
  • Red Healthbar bosses now drop a few enchanted books but mainly provide the Rare Variant boosted droprate for charges
  • Dungeon Bosses have been consistently rebalanced to level 20/40/50
  • There is now a rare 0.45% (2/442) chance for any creature to spawn as a Red Healthbar Boss

Main Boss Improvements

  • Added new attacks and minion spawns to increase the pacing and thematically feel like an exentsion of Lycanites Dungeons and Challenge Altars.
  • Bosses now apply the "Voided" debuff, this effect prevents you from gaining buffs which restricts when equipment, pets, and food should be used. Basic attacks will not purge existing buffs but their exclusive abilities are strong to do so.
  • Added Enchanted Soulkeys, they are leveled up in the Equipment Infuser and store usages with the Equipment Stations. They can spawn bosses between level 1 and 100.
  • New loot table scaled based on the boss' levels. Higher levels drops higher quality enchanted books and emeralds.

Misc

  • Added the Charge Staff, an End Dimension stage weapon that fires Lycanites charges likea bow and arrow.
  • Added a keybind to summon/teleport a specific Soulbound pet
  • Added an Altars tab to the beastiary that shows the availlable Altars
  • Fixed certain sounds never playing such as Ignibus and Necrovore not using attack sounds

Mod Compatibility

  • Distinct Damage Descriptions - Additionally shows information in Beastiary intead of only Spawn Eggs
  • RLCombat - Fixed issues with and enabled offhand attacking with Lycanites Equipment
  • In Control - Added numerous config rules and actions
  • Potion Core - Fixed jump being heavily nerfed, thus restoring jump abilities of the Uvaraptor and Barghest.
  • Baubles - Soulgazer Bauble

A full list of changes and features is availlable on my GitHub. If you are only interested in patch/bug fixes, you would be able to find it there.

I have created a few preset configs which you can find here: https://github.com/cdstk/LycanitesTweaks/tree/main/presetconfigs

A. Fully default - A few settings away from enabling prior features such as Player Mob Levels

B. Patch only - A vanilla Lycanites experience with bug fixes

C. No Scaling Addon - An experience based on not having Player Mob Levels, what I would recommend using for RLCraft instead of fully default.
