About this project

What does Tool Disassemble add?

🔧 Tool Disassemble

Sometimes you make a Tinkers' Construct tool and later regret it – maybe you want to get the materials back. Tool Disassemble is here to help!

🛠️ Features

  1. Right-click a configurable block (default: Smooth Stone) while holding the Disassembling tool in your main hand
  2. It will automatically disassemble the first valid tool in your hotbar, and Returns:
  • All tool parts (head, handle, binding, etc.)
  • Used upgrade materials (e.g. redstone, diamond, netherite)
  • Overslime (converted to vanilla slime balls)

⚙️ Configurable Options (via config/ToolDisassembleConfig.toml)

  • itemDisassembleBlacklist: Materials in this list will not be returned when dismantled (default includes "minecraft:quartz")
  • toolDisassembleBlacklist: Tools in this list cannot be dismantled
  • disassemblingBlockSet: List of blocks that can trigger dismantling (default includes "minecraft:smooth_stone")

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Modifiers with multiple recipes (like redstone dust vs redstone block): The tool doesn't record which variant you used, so the mod uses the first registered recipe. This can sometimes lead to a little material loss (e.g., using dust but getting refund in blocks).
  • Tools are dismantled based on the first disassemblable item in the hotbar, scanning left to right.
  • If your hotbar only contains disassemblable tools that are blacklisted, you’ll receive a failure message.
  • Plate Shield, Ancient Tools (like Swasher, Battlesign, Melting Pan etc.), Travelers Suit, Slime Suit can not be disassembled.
