About this project

What does InventoryLocker add?

Inventory Locker

Tired of accidently dropping your items? Maybe you're playing a Skyblock map, and dropping an item could be the end of your run? Welcome to

INVENTORY LOCKER

This mod allows you to press ALT + Click on an item in your inventory, to lock it to your inventory. You won't be able to drop the item, or shift click it into chests. You can move it around like normal however. Simply ALT + Clicking again will unlock the item!

A Minecraft mod for NeoForge that allows players to lock items in their inventory, preventing accidental drops and movements. Inspired by Terraria's item favoriting system.

Features

  • 🔒 Lock Items: Alt+Click to lock items in your inventory
  • 🎮 Visual Feedback: Red borders appear around locked items in inventory and hotbar
  • 🚫 Drop Protection: Locked items cannot be dropped with Q key
  • 🌐 Multiplayer Compatible: Full server-side validation with client sync
  • Item-Based Locking: Locks follow the item, not the slot - move it anywhere and it stays locked

Usage

Locking Items

  1. Open your inventory (E)
  2. Hold Alt and left-click on an item to lock/unlock it

Visual Indicators

  • Locked items show a red border
  • Works in both inventory and hotbar

What Gets Protected

  • Cannot drop locked items with Q
  • Cannot accidentally throw locked items out of inventory
  • Locks persist through death (items stay locked when you respawn)
