Simple Enchanting

This mod overhauls the Minecraft enchanting and repair systems to reduce grind and RNG. You can now craft any enchanted book directly on the crafting table. To get higher-level enchantments, simply combine these books for a constant cost of 3 levels, a price that never changes. Best of all, repairing is fixed at just 1 level and restores 100% of the tool's durability, encouraging players to actually use the repair mechanic.

📖 Craftable Enchantments

• Craftable Enchantments: Enchanted books are now craftable using standard recipes.

  

• Tiered Progression: Only Level 1 books can be crafted, so you must combine them to obtain higher-level enchantments.

• Fixed Costs: Combining books or applying them to an item always costs a fixed 5 Levels. This encourages players to spend experience as they gain it.

  

• RNG-Free: You can still use the enchanting table as normal; this mod simply provides a luck-free alternative for upgrading your gear.

🔧 The Anvil Overhaul

• Constant Repair Cost: Repairing an item with its material (e.g., Diamond Pickaxe + Diamond) costs 1 Level and restores 100% Durability.
• No "Too Expensive": The cumulative repair penalty is wiped every time you use the Anvil. You can repair and modify your favorite gear forever.
• Cheap Renaming: Renaming an item only costs 1 Level.

⚠ Important Notes

• Mending Configuration: There is a config option to completely remove Mending books from Villagers and Loot Chests. However, by default, this restriction is disabled (Mending is allowed), as removing it might be too drastic for standard gameplay.
• Standard Rules Apply: Minecraft's enchanting exclusivity rules remain unchanged. For example, you still cannot apply Fortune to armor or combine multiple Protection types on a single item.
• Mod Compatibility: This mod is a complete overhaul of the Anvil and repair systems. It has not been tested with other mods that modify enchanting logic, so please be aware that conflicts may occur if used alongside similar mods.

📦 Modpacks & Permissions

You are free to use Simple Enchanting in any modpack! The only condition is that the mod files must be downloaded via CurseForge or Modrinth.
