About this project

What does GaiaTweaks add?

GaiaTweaks is a highly configurable mod that adds quality of life features, reworks, tweaks, bug fixes, and mod interactions.

Vanilla Tweaks

  • Decreases the delay to "tempt" an animal with their favorite food after you stopped holding it
  • A sword parrying mechanic for projectiles. To do it, simply block your sword right before the projectile hits you
  • Option to tweak the spawn weight/frequency of endermen
  • Option to change how many blocks travelled in the nether are equivalent to in the overworld
  • Backports 1.8+ item frame behaviour, allowing you to rotate items in 45 degrees (this is compatible with Botania's corporea blocks btw)
  • Skeletons now visually pull their arrows before shooting
  • Adds a button for accessing the Achievements menu to your inventory (also a keybind)
  • Option to limit witches to spawning only in the Swampland biome, as opposed to every biome
  • Food items can give configurable buffs when eaten (a few food items by default)
  • Food items can be configured to have their eating speed halved (melon slices and spider eyes by default)
  • Option to disable village generation
  • Adds an optional stamina system that replaces the vanilla hunger system (deplenishes when running and slowly replenishes when walking/standing still; both health and stamina replenish when eating food)

Backported Mod Features

  • Climb ladders faster by looking upwards, from Quark
  • Simple underground biomes (also Quark)
  • Reversal ladder and slab recipes (also 8 stair output recipes and three block stair recipes that craft 4 stair blocks) [also Quark x2]
  • Adds head slot to Baubles Expanded and allows the Goggles of Revealing from Thaumcraft to be worn in it (requires Baubles Expanded)
  • Removes XP repair cost of unenchanted items and materials always repair tools by a third of their max durability, adapted from Lumberwizard's Anvil Patch

Additions

  • The Autumnal Forest, a new biome (disabled by default), that features oak trees and dark oak trees with red and orange leaves, as well as dead leaf piles (not Leaf Litter)

Mod Tweaks & Fixes

  • The Aether:
  • Configurable ore generation
  • Makes the Aerbunny despawn outside the dimension
  • Fixes the Aerbunny spawning a ton of black smoke particles when on the player's head
  • Option to remove Valkyrie dialogue and the Valkyrie Queen's interaction UI
  • Option to nerf Sentry Boots to have iron tier stats instead of diamond
  • Moas will no longer drop eggs
  • Golden Amber is made slightly harder to obtain, while also making non-Aether axes able to harvest it
  • Option to reduce Ambrosium's stack size (useful especially if you're using the stamina system)
  • Replaces Aether's accessory inventory with Baubles Expanded's (requires Baubles Expanded)
  • Replaces The Aether's mimic mob with Primitive Mobs' (requires Primitive Mobs)
  • Thaumcraft:
  • Adds leaf-less taintwood log trees (inspired by the TC7 trailer)
  • Nodes may "infuse" nearby stone blocks with one of it's aspects every three minutes, turning it into a crystal ore
  • Thaumometers now ignore Item Frame entities (they don't have any aspects)
  • Option to limit Greatwood trees to overworld
  • Configurable biome blacklist for Greatwood tree generation (includes only Roofed Forests by default)
  • Allows the Infernal Furnace to smelt iron ingots into Railcraft's steel ingots (Requires Railcraft, steel from other mods won't work)
  • Twilight Forest:
  • Optional custom models for Bighorn Sheep and Wild Deer (check them out in the gallery!)
  • Et Futurum Requiem:
  • Nether biomes' fungal roots now need to be broken with Shears to drop
  • Fixes Thaumcraft's nether mobs spawning in the Crimson and Warped forests (Requires Thaumcraft)
  • Dimensional Doors:
  • Option to limit Gateway generation to the overworld
  • Battle Towers:
  • Replaces the vanilla mob spawner with a new custom spawner with less range that self destructs after 12 mobs are spawned
  • Prevents towers from generating outside the overworld and removes the Nether/"Hell" tower variant
  • Options to change the amount of items dropped by the golem
  • Primitive Mobs:
  • Limits the mod's monsters spawning to the overworld
  • Option to remove the mod's achievement page
  • HammerZ:
  • Removes the hammers' right-click torch feature
