About this project
What does Falling Water add?
This mod is a quick attempt to implement another immersion mechanic for the Au Naturel modpack.
It attempts to disable the common vanilla mechanic of swimming up waterfalls and similar falling water, and it also implements a weight characteristic on armor that makes the player sink when wearing heavy protective gear.
The no waterfall climbing mechanic is universal and should apply irrespective of what the player is wearing.
It optionally integrates into the Armor Weight mod, using its effects preferentially if present. When the armor weight mod is active, this mod accesses and uses the encumberance effect, defining the rate of vertical downwards velocity when swimming based upon the presence and number of the effect.
When the Armor Weight mod is not presence, it determines weight by the amount of protection offered by the armor. The base setting aims to make it just feasible to swim in leather armor, but additional protection/weight quickly eliminates any possibility of swimming, as players will sink below the surface of the water and quickly run out of air.
