About this project

What does Enchant Insight add?

Enchant Insight is a lightweight NeoForge client mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that makes enchantments easier to understand at a glance.

When you hover an enchanted book, the mod adds a short description directly under each enchantment instead of forcing you to guess what modded or unfamiliar enchants do. It supports vanilla enchantments and a growing list of modded enchantments, while staying safe to use even when those supported mods are not installed.

On regular enchanted gear, Enchant Insight also shows effective stat changes caused by enchantments, including values like attack damage, protection, knockback, and other attribute-based bonuses when they can be determined reliably.

Current supported enchantment sources include:

  • Vanilla Minecraft
  • Pretension
  • Enhanced Enchanting
  • Expanded Combat
  • KMonsters
  • MCB
  • Weapons Expanded
  • Cyan Warrior Swords Mod
  • Nameless World
  • Big Swords
  • ArPhEx
  • Apotheosis

Features:

  • Adds inline descriptions to enchanted book tooltips
  • Supports many custom enchantments from other mods
  • Shows effective stat differences on enchanted items
  • Client-side quality-of-life improvement
  • No extra dependency requirements beyond Minecraft and NeoForge

Designed for players who use large modpacks and want enchantments to be readable without checking wikis or digging through datapacks.
