TickTally
Track your true Minecraft playtime across worlds and servers with clean, automatic tracking and zero fluff. TickTally keeps it simple, accurate, and entirely under your control
Quick answer
Which TickTally release should I use?
TickTally tick-tally-1.6.0.jar targets 1.21, 1.21.8, 1.21.5 with Fabric. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 4 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is TickTally required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does TickTally tick-tally-1.6.0.jar need?
tick-tally-1.6.0.jar. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Mod Menu, Cloth Config API (Fabric/Forge/NeoForge), Fabric API, Text Placeholder API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 1 comes through another mod in the chain.
1 extra mod was pulled in by another dependency. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

Philosophy
TickTally is not a parenting tool.
It doesn’t judge, limit, or control how you play.
It simply tells you the truth:
how much time you’ve actually spent in the game.
What you do with that information is entirely up to you.
How It Works
- Uses Minecraft’s built-in stats for initial world imports
- Tracks active playtime using client ticks
- Saves progress periodically to prevent loss
- Stores everything locally in:
.minecraft/config/ticktally.json
- Stores corrupted saves in:
.minecraft/config/corrupt_<total_played_milliseconds_at_the_time_of_corruption>_ticktally.json
Installation
- Install Fabric Loader
- Install Fabric API
- Drop the
.jarinto yourmodsfolder - Launch the game
- Also, you are required to have Fabric API, Cloth Config API & Mod Menu installed too.
Done.
Why TickTally?
Minecraft doesn’t tell you how long you’ve actually played.
TickTally fills that gap:
- No bloated UI
- No unnecessary features
- No invasive tracking
Just a single number that quietly grows with your journey

Final Note
This mod was built with a simple goal: make something small, useful, and honest.
If it helps you even a little — it did its job.
And I, the creator of this mod, only make any software when I either want to learn something or felt the need of it and thought that others might need this too, and this project, goes into the second category.
