About this project

What does Trim Resonance add?

TrimResonance

TrimResonance turns Minecraft's armor trim system from a cosmetic feature into a progression system. Every trim material and pattern you craft and wear grants unique, stackable abilities find the right combinations and you'll feel it.

Built on the idea from BetterTrims by Bawnorton. TrimResonance takes that concept and adds its own dual-system on top, with unique material and pattern combinations.

⚙️ How It Works

TrimResonance runs two independent systems at the same time:

System What It Does Activation
Material Effects Core passive ability from the trim material 1 piece minimum
Pattern Effects Secondary ability from the trim pattern 2 pieces minimum

Both systems run at the same time. A full Gold set with Sentry pattern gives you the Solar Bonus and the armor buff together.

Material Abilities (System 1)

Applies to every piece worn with that material, regardless of pattern. Scales with number of pieces (1–4).

Gold — Solar Bonus

Only active in the Overworld during daytime.

  • +1 Attack Damage per piece
  • +7% Movement Speed per piece
  • +1 Armor per piece
  • +0.5 Attack Speed per piece

Redstone — Swift Current

  • +12% Movement Speed per piece (up to +48% total)

Netherite — Nether Ward

  • Permanent Fire Resistance
  • +2 Armor and +1 Toughness per piece
  • 7.5% chance per piece to completely negate incoming damage (capped at 30%)

Diamond — Resilience

  • -5% incoming damage per piece (max -20% reduced damage)

Copper — Conductor

  • Projectiles you fire summon lightning bolts on hit.
  • Requires Thundering weather and sky visibility to activate.

Emerald — Merchant's Favor

  • -6.25% villager trade discount per piece (Capped at 25% max for balance)

Quartz — Scholar

  • +25% XP gain per piece (up to +100% Experience from all sources)

Lapis — XP Magnet

  • Requires a full set (4 pieces) to activate.
  • Pulls nearby Experience Orbs from up to 8 blocks away toward the player.

Resin — Ambush

  • While sneaking, melee attacks deal +6.25% damage per piece
  • Scales up to +25% at 4 pieces

Pattern Abilities (System 2)

Requires at least 2 matching pattern pieces. Scales up at 3 and 4 pieces.
