GPU load
Let's put the GPU to work!
Quick answer
Which GPU load release matches 1.20.1 Forge?
GPU load gpuloader-1.0.5.jar targets 1.20.1 with Forge. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 1 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is GPU load required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does GPU load gpuloader-1.0.5.jar need?
gpuloader-1.0.5.jar on 1.20.1 Forge. Every mod below is checked against that same setup.
Install mutcho's GPU load API first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 1 comes through another mod in the chain.
1 extra mod was pulled in by another dependency. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does GPU load add?
Is your server CPU's integrated graphics sitting idle? Or does your server have a dedicated GPU?
Let's put it to work!
This mod offloads terrain noise, weather noise, and half of the AI processing to the GPU. These tasks aren't exactly a breeze for the CPU, but they're not particularly difficult for the GPU.
Since it doesn't handle all terrain generation or AI processing, it's “relatively” stable. (Though the effects are limited as a result...)
In short, this slightly reduces CPU load, resulting in more stable system performance.
However, depending on your environment, TPS (ticks per second) may decrease slightly.
Ultimately, this is a mod based on the philosophy of prioritizing stability, even at the cost of top speed.
The author is Japanese. Therefore, there may be disadvantages such as difficult to understand English (there are probably many).

Known Issues
There are a few bugs at the time of release...
- When shutting down the server, it crashes due to a memory access issue. On the servers I manage, this has not caused any issues such as data corruption; it simply causes the server to crash along with some error logs.
The cause is likely that when the server is shut down, memory is explicitly released, but some process is still requesting it.
This issue is caused by the server shutdown process. It shouldn’t occur if the shutdown process doesn’t run...
