About this project

What does EverCrops: Farmer's Delight add?

EverCrops: Farmer's Delight

Farmer's Delight crops keep growing while you're away from your farm.

This is an expansion for EverCrops that adds catch-up growth support for Farmer's Delight crops and blocks that have their own custom growth logic. Install both mods together — EverCrops handles the vanilla crops while this expansion handles the rest.

How it works

EverCrops doesn't simulate growth on unloaded chunks (that would be expensive and laggy). Instead, it tracks when each crop last ticked, and on the next random tick after the chunk reloads, it catches the crop up based on how much game time has elapsed.

Walk away for an hour, a day, a week — when you come back and the chunk reloads, your crops advance as if they had been ticking the whole time.

Pre-existing crops: Crops that already existed in your world before EverCrops was installed get registered the first time their chunk reloads near you, so they'll start catching up from that point forward.

Note: In singleplayer, the world only ticks while you're playing. EverCrops catches crops up based on in-game time elapsed, not real-world time, so closing the game and coming back tomorrow won't fast-forward your farm.

Supported Farmer's Delight blocks

Crops

  • 🍅 Tomatoes — ground-planted only; rope-logged vines are excluded as their multi-block mechanic is left to vanilla
  • 🌱 Budding tomato seedlings — advances to max age; the sprouting step that produces the full tomato vine is left to vanilla
  • 🌾 Rice — advances through all four growth stages
  • 🥬 Cabbage — covered automatically by EverCrops's base CropBlock mixin
  • 🧅 Onion — covered automatically by EverCrops's base CropBlock mixin

Blocks

  • 🍄 Mushroom Colonies (red and brown) — grow through four stages while the chunk is unloaded
  • 🌿 Organic Compost — advances through all composting stages and finishes ripening into Rich Soil while you're away; growth speed scales with nearby compost activators, water, and sky light just like vanilla
  • 🪸 Rich Soil — converts a mushroom sitting on top of it into a Mushroom Colony the moment the chunk reloads, instead of making you wait for the next random tick

Compatibility

This mod uses only @Inject, @Accessor, and @Invoker mixins — no overwrites, no replacements. It introduces no custom blocks and no block entities, and all tracked data is shared with the base EverCrops mod (stored in the same evercrops.dat per-dimension file).

  • ✅ Requires EverCrops base mod and Farmer's Delight
  • ✅ Server-side friendly (clients don't need it installed for the growth logic to work)
  • ✅ All EverCrops admin commands (/evercrops inspect, tick, simulate) work with Farmer's Delight crops automatically

Companion mods

  • EverCrops — required; handles vanilla crops (wheat, carrots, melons, sugar cane, saplings, and more)
  • EverFurnace — give the same catch-up treatment to your furnaces, blast furnaces, and smokers
  • EverHopper — give the same catch-up treatment to your hoppers
