About
This mod focuses exclusively on one of Witchery's most recognizable world features: its fortified villages.
Rather than recreating Witchery's magic, rituals, curses, or progression systems, this project restores its village structures and defensive atmosphere for modern Minecraft.
The goal is simple: bring back the Witchery villages players remember while making them work properly in modern world generation.
Restored Structures
Town Keep
The central fortified structure of Witchery's villages, restored with its original design and biome variants.
Guard Tower
Defensive towers positioned throughout fortified villages, complete with village guards.
Village Walls
A complete wall-generation system designed to follow the surrounding terrain while preventing overlapping or misplaced walls.
Guards
The mod includes its own Village Guards, which can defend villages from hostile mobs and spawn in locations such as:
- Village streets
- Village walls
- Guard Towers
- Town Keeps
Guard behavior has also been improved to prevent them from attacking friendly entities, villagers, pets, or players unintentionally.
Guard Villagers Compatibility
The mod includes built-in compatibility with the Guard Villagers mod.
You can:
- Disable this mod's guards when Guard Villagers is installed
- Use both guard systems together
- Allow Guard Villagers to spawn normally in streets
- Have guards from either system defend walls, Guard Towers, and Town Keeps
- Configure which guard system you want to use
Configuration
Several aspects of village generation can be configured, including:
- Wall spawn rate
- Town Keep spawn rate
- Guard Tower spawn rate
- Mod guard spawning
- Guard Villagers compatibility
Structure generation defaults to a 50% chance for each individual structure type.
Original Mod
Inspired by Witchery by Emoniph for Minecraft 1.7.10.
This project restores the fortified village structures and guard mechanics from the original mod. It is not a remake of Witchery's magic, rituals, curses, or progression systems.
Modpack Use
This mod is free to include in public and private modpacks. No permission is required.
