Quick answer
Which PokeUtilities release should I use?
PokeUtilities 1.2.0 for Cobblemon 1.8.x targets 1.21.1 with Fabric. The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both. All 6 required mods have matching files.
Where it goes
Is PokeUtilities required on the client, server, or both?
The project page does not say whether this file belongs on the client, dedicated server, or both.
The source does not explicitly classify this release as client-only or server-only.
What else does PokeUtilities 1.2.0 for Cobblemon 1.8.x need?
1.2.0 for Cobblemon 1.8.x. Change the file and its required mods may change too.
Install Fabric Language Kotlin, Fabric API, YetAnotherConfigLib, Mod Menu and 2 more first. We found matching files for this game-version and loader setup. 1 comes through another mod in the chain.
1 extra mod was pulled in by another dependency. Indented rows show who needs each one. We only count dependency files that match this setup. A file for another loader does not fill the gap.

About this project
What does PokeUtilities add?
PokeUtilities
Client-side quality-of-life mod for Cobblemon on Fabric. Find out where anything spawns without leaving the game, see IVs and catch rates at a glance, and spot shinies, legendaries and alphas in the world.
Client-side only. No server install required. Sends only the same packets the vanilla Cobblemon client would.
Two downloads, one per Cobblemon major. Pick the file matching your version,

Features (free)
Spawn finder and dex
Press N for a searchable list of every species.
- Where it spawns. Biomes and biome tags, time of day, weather, light level, Y range, required structures, nearby blocks, level range, rarity bucket and weight, per spawn rule
- Here filter. Narrows the list to what can spawn where you are standing right now, using your biome, dimension, time, weather, moon phase, Y and light. Sleep until night and the list changes
- Evolution requirements in plain English. Level, friendship, stones, held items, time of day, biome, party members, stat comparisons, advancements
- Full learnset, grouped by how each move is learned, level up, egg, TM, tutor, special and legacy, with a filter for one group at a time
- Breeding. Egg groups, gender split and egg cycles, then every species it can breed with, grouped by shared egg group. Ditto, genderless and Undiscovered Pokemon follow the game's rules
- Evolve list. Species you haven't caught that a Pokemon in your party can evolve into, marked when one is ready now, with what each still needs: more levels, an item, a trade or a condition
- Drops, base stats, abilities, catch rate and experience group
Everything is read from the Cobblemon version you have installed, at runtime. Nothing is bundled and the mod makes no network requests, so it works offline and keeps working when Cobblemon adds new Pokemon. In singleplayer it reads your world's live spawn pool, so enabled data packs are included. On a server, spawn data never reaches the client, so you see base Cobblemon rather than that server's custom spawns, and the mod says so at the top of the tab.
PokeFinder
- Highlight wild shiny, legendary and alpha Pokemon, each in its own color
- Species filter with autocomplete from the Cobblemon dex
- Configurable colors
- Line of sight only. Highlights never reveal Pokemon behind opaque blocks
Overlay
- Species, level and HP for the Pokemon you are looking at or fighting
- IV panel with a bar and a colored value per stat, the nature's raised and lowered stats marked, and the IV and EV totals. Or one overall percentage such as
IVs: 71% - Live catch-rate prediction that updates as you switch balls in hand
Config
Press U in game, or open it through ModMenu.
Premium
The premium build is a separate jar that includes everything above plus:
- Box tools. Party and PC in one list, sorted by perfect IVs, IV total, level, species or location, filtered to shinies or a minimum perfect IV count, or searched by name, nature, ability or held item
- Breeding filter. Pick a Pokemon and see only the ones in your party and PC that can make an egg with it
- Evolve list across the PC. The dex checks every box, not just your party
- PC overlay. The perfect IV count on every slot, a finder that outlines matches and dims the rest, a jump to the next box holding one, and a hover card with IVs, EVs, nature, ability and moves
- Release review. Build a rule from presets or by hand, untick anything you want to keep, then confirm twice. Shinies, legendaries, held items and nicknamed Pokemon are protected by default
- World-space tracers. Camera to target lines for highlighted Pokemon
- Pokedex helper. Marks species you have never encountered, and seen but not caught
- Smart filters. IV thresholds, level threshold, hidden ability, specific abilities, natures and genders
- Extended dossier. Gender, ability with hidden marker, nature with mint flag, held item, caught ball, tera type, friendship
- Type-effectiveness HUD. Your moves' multipliers against the opposing Pokemon in battle
- Battle move advisor. Picks the strongest move each turn using a Showdown-trained PPO neural net plus an AlphaZero-style game-tree search with a Nash solver
- Auto-fish, auto-battle, auto-leave fishing battles and a force-forfeit keybind. Auto-fish stops on a shiny instead of fleeing it
Premium ships through Ko-fi and funds development of both builds. The free build keeps getting new features, bug fixes and version bumps.

FAQ
Will free features get paywalled later? No. Anything in the free build stays in the free build.
Can I run free and premium together? No. They share a mod id, so premium replaces the free jar.
Fair play? The mod only reads client-visible state and renders overlays. Highlights never show Pokemon through opaque blocks. Auto-actions in the premium build send the same packets the vanilla Cobblemon client sends.
Telemetry? None. The mod opens no sockets. The only outbound action is opening your browser if you click the Ko-fi link.
