About this project
What does Realistic Landing [IA] add?
Realistic Landing [IA]
Adds assisted approaches, touchdown handling and progressive rollout to Immersive Aircraft.
New in 0.0.9: Stronger low-throttle descent, a shorter landing flare and improved rollout.
Features
- At 50% selected throttle or below, airplanes descend even when level or nose-up. Reducing power through 40%, 30% and 20% produces progressively stronger descent.
- A short final cushion helps touchdown without a prolonged glide above the runway.
- Progressive landing rollout, including at idle, with normal taxi handling returning near a stop.
- Normal W/S ground movement below 15% selected throttle, including idle and engine-off.
- A separate engine start/stop control, with 10% running idle by default.
- Landing reports, ground-surface handling and configurable hard-landing damage.
- One compact contextual display that combines with updated Homing Missiles and Realistic Takeoff. Each addon also works on its own.
Controls & Settings
J starts or stops the engine by default. Normal throttle controls adjust running power. Increase power above 50% to release descent assistance. W/S supplies normal low-power forward/reverse ground movement; no brake key is added. Keybindings can be changed in Controls.
Use /landing report for the latest landing report. Settings remain in config/realistic-landing.properties. Detailed feedback is optional; hiding the display does not mute warnings.
Installation
- Forge 1.20.1: requires Immersive Aircraft 1.5.0.
- Fabric / NeoForge 1.21.1: supports Immersive Aircraft 1.6.0 and 1.7.0. Fabric also requires Fabric API.
Install matching files on client and server. Remove older Realistic Landing JARs, including test builds, and restart Minecraft. Other addons are optional. Assistance is not terrain avoidance or a guarantee of a safe landing.
