About this project

What does With Added Flavor add?

With Added Flavor (WIP)

Let's be honest: eating in Minecraft is mostly just a chore to keep your hunger bar full. With Added Flavor changes that by turning food into actual tools for your adventures.

This mod introduces a small collection of unique, magical snacks and ingredients that grant temporary status effects to help you with exploring, mining, and surviving. Every item is designed to look and feel like it belongs in vanilla Minecraft, balanced around survival gameplay with a risk-and-reward system. You won't find these overnight you’ll have to explore old mineshafts, dive into deep oceans, or brave the Nether to collect them.

What's on the Menu?

  • Glow Banana: Lights up your character. Grants the Glowing effect for 20 seconds. Crafted using an apple and glow berries, or found as a rare drop in jungle trees.
  • Bouncy Berry: Gives you a neat Jump Boost for 10 seconds. Perfect for navigating steep cliffs or ancient temples. Crafted with sweet berries and slimeballs.
  • Miner's Mint: The ultimate snacking companion for your mining trips. Grants both Haste II and Night Vision for 10 seconds to speed up your digging in dark caves.
  • Spicy Pepper: Found growing out of Crimson Roots in the Nether (or made in a smoker). It grants a massive Speed III boost for 10 seconds, but it's so hot that it gives you Poison for 4 seconds when consumed!
  • Chocolate Gold Coin: A heavy treat wrapped in gold nuggets. It makes you super heavy, granting Slowness III for 10 seconds. Can be crafted or obtained by bartering with Piglins.
  • Aqua Melon: A prismarine-infused melon slice that gives you Water Breathing III for 10 seconds and Dolphin's Grace for 4 seconds. You'll have to hunt down shipwrecks and buried treasures to find this one.

Current Features

  • Custom, vanilla-accurate 16x16 pixel art textures for all items.
  • Fully integrated survival progression including shapeless/shaped crafting, smoker recipes, custom world drops, and loot table integration.
