About this project

What does Voltex add?

It's an industrial tech mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge). You mine and process ores, build machines, move Forge Energy (FE) around with cables, pipe fluids and heat, automate your logistics, and work your way up from a single coal generator to late-game multiblocks, bred nanites and a Dyson solar panel. The Information Panel, a guide built into the game, is handed to you the first time you join a world, so you don't have to alt tab to a wiki to figure out where to start.

3.0.0 is out: late-game multiblocks, nanites, an Industrial Miner, energy weapons and a new look for every machine. Full changelog with videos: GitHub release

Machines. Every machine has its own window, an energy buffer and JEI recipes. Crusher, Compressor, Electric Furnace and Extractor for core ore and material processing. Metal Former with switchable Rolling and Extruding modes for plates, rods and wires. Ore Washer and Fluid Enricher for higher yields. Restructor, a catalyst driven molecular restructuring machine. Small Blast Furnace for alloys and hardened steel. Rod Fabricator for cryo rods and superconductors. Liquefier, Crystallizer, Phase Splitter and Capsule Filler for melting, casting, splitting and bottling fluids. Stone, Lava and Water Generators for renewable resources. Cultivator T2 and Restructor T2 run three lines in one block. The Bioreactor grows mob drops from biomass. The Matter Fabricator turns raw energy back into matter.

Late game. Ten multiblock machines built from ports: Industrial Crusher, Furnace, Compressor, Rolling Mill, Ore Washer, Assembler, Fluid Enricher, Liquefier, Blast Furnace and Electromagnet. They run 64 operations per cycle, take upgrade blocks for more parallel, speed or efficiency, and move everything through input, output, energy and heat ports. With Applied Energistics 2 installed you also get ME Input, Output and Pattern Ports. The Structure Wand places the missing blocks for you.

Nanites. Breed nanite strains in the Evolution Chamber. Miners go into the Industrial Miner, Processors into ore washing, Scientists into the Nanite Lab, where they write the data cards that late recipes need. Every species you find goes into the Species Atlas.

Energy. Everything runs on FE. Coal Generator, ten tiers of Solar Panels up to the Dyson Solar Panel, and the Panel Combiner to merge them. The Energy Bank for storage. The Charging Amulet and Charging Packs keep your gear topped up. Seven cable tiers, from Copper Cable to Netherite Fiber Cable.

Heat and cold. Heat is its own resource here: the Thermogenerator turns power into heat, heat pipes carry it, and the Small Blast Furnace, Liquefier, Thermal Station and Cryo Chamber use it. The 5×5×5 Cryo Chamber unlocks superconductors, and the Electromagnet, a particle accelerator, makes the rarest materials.

Logistics. Item Hub and Fluid Hub handle all six sides of a machine from one block. Logistics Nodes route items and fluids across the base, and pushers and pullers move things in and out. No pipes needed.

Mining. A 3×3×3 Miner that virtually mines ores based on the Lens you put in it (Overworld, Nether, End or Universal). Each Lens has its own weighted ore table you can check in JEI. Later, the Industrial Miner works with Drill Beacons you place anywhere and mines the ores under them without loading their chunks.

Gear. Nexite and Plasma power armor, the Energy Blade and the Gauss Rifle, which share charge with the matching suit. Electric and Industrial Drills, Electric Wrench.

Storage and the rest. Crates and Fluid Barrels in three tiers. Universal Capsules carry any fluid. Speed and efficiency upgrades and Parallel Processing Modules (×8, ×32, ×64). New ores and metals (Tin, Lead, Bauxite for aluminum, plus lithium, nickel, silver and more from processing), unified through the standard forge: tags, with AlmostUnified support so it fits into mixed modpacks.

For pack makers. Voltex registers KubeJS recipe schemas for its machines, so you can add, remove and tweak recipes from kubejs/server_scripts/. Install ProbeJS if you want autocomplete in your editor. Industrial Assembler and Bioreactor recipes are JSON only for now. Full recipe reference and examples: https://github.com/jykito/voltex-docs/blob/main/KUBEJS_RECIPES.md

Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47+. JEI recommended. KubeJS, Jade and Applied Energistics 2 optional.
