About this project
What does Starting Classes add?
This mod adds the ability for players to choose a starting class the first time they join a world, allowing them to choose from a selection of equipment loadouts, to give you a headstart or objective on their playthrough. These loadouts vary from combat focused like Knight and Dreadnought, to exploration focused like Trader and Pioneer, to even allowing you to start with a tamed mob like Ranger or Outrider. This mod is intended to be highly data-driven, allowing for modpack and datapack makers to add their own classes or modify existing ones. See the wiki for more details and a template.
An in-game command, 'starting_classes_open_menu (player)' exists to allow manual (re)opening of the class menu. Three additional commands exist allowing operators to enable or disable specific classes, '/starting_classes_enable/disable_class "(class id)", and to clear the blacklist of disabled classes.
Some classes offer choices between a selection of items. allowing for minor variety among players who choose the same class.
