About this project

What does Realmwalker add?

Realmwalker

This mod is a combat-and-progression mod built around fighting echoes of the past: hooded spellblade "Simulacra" that culminate in a three-phase boss, The Realmwalker.

This mod has an extra weapon layer that unlocks if you also have Spell Engine and related RPG Series mods installed.

Simulacra can spawn several ways:

  • Stone-circle shrines generate in the Overworld and spawn a Simulacrum on the spot.
  • Events occasionally spawn a wandering Simulacrum near you (about as rare as a wandering trader); these despawn if left alone.
  • Resonant Artifacts: found by brushing suspicious sand/gravel and in buried treasure, desert pyramids, ancient cities, and abandoned mineshafts. Right-click to shatter one and summon a Simulacrum to fight on demand.

Progression loop

  1. Fight Simulacra (found, summoned, or via night events). On death they drop Fragments of the Unoriginal.
  2. Craft 9 Fragments into the Mask of the First Echo.
  3. Right-click the Mask to summon The Realmwalker boss and start the fight.
  4. The boss drops an Echoforged Diamond.
  5. Smith that diamond onto any of the five weapons (in a smithing table, using a netherite upgrade template) to create its stronger Masterwork version.

The weapons (requires Spell Engine)

Five netherite-tier spell weapons, distributed through tiered structure/dungeon loot and repairable with Fragments:

  • Tenspeed Saber: fast spellblade (haste)
  • Ambrose's Hook: sickle (crit damage)
  • Witch Hunter's Cleaver: heavy blade (crit chance)
  • Staff of Annihilation: caster staff (fire/frost/arcane power)
  • Emil's Pursuit: short bow

Like mentioned before, you can craft these into post-netherite gear using Echoforged Diamonds.

The mod runs fully without Spell Engine, but will not include any of the items or their upgrades.

This mod is a continuation and sequel to the discontinued Hexblade mod, also made by myself.

It is inspired by titles such as Dishonored and Mega Man Zero (particularly the third one featuring the fight against Omega Zero).
