About this project
What does Tools, Armor and Shields add?
Tools, Armor and Shields
A vanilla-friendly Fabric mod that significantly expands your survival and terraforming capabilities.
This project consolidates five individual modules into a single, cohesive mod,
introducing new tiers of equipment based on Amethyst, Emerald, and Obsidian,
alongside powerful multi-block mining tools and uniquely customized shields.
Heavy-Duty Tools (Hammers & Excavators)
Hammers function as upgraded pickaxes for mining stone-like materials,
while Excavators function as upgraded shovels for digging dirt, sand, and gravel.
Both tools mine multiple blocks simultaneously and feature a dynamic visual block outline
to show precisely which blocks will be destroyed before you mine them.
The tools are available in four tiers, each with varying mining radiuses and depths:
Iron Tier: Mines a 3x3x1 area (1 block deep).
Redstone Tier: Mines a 3x3x3 area (3 blocks deep).
Emerald Tier: Mines a massive 5x5x1 area (1 block deep).
Diamond Tier: Mines an ultimate 5x5x5 area (5 blocks deep).
_Note: The tools dynamically skip blocks they are not designed to mine
(e.g., an Excavator will not break stone), preventing accidental damage to your world._
Tiers & Armor Set Bonuses
The mod introduces full toolsets, weapons, and armor for three materials:
Amethyst, Emerald, and Obsidian.
Equipping a full set of armor grants unique, persistent abilities:
- Amethyst Armor: Acts as a dynamic light source.
Wearing the full set emits a continuous light level of 15 around the player (True Lantern Behavior).
- Emerald Armor: Grants a Villager Discount.
Wearing the full set provides better trading prices with villagers, functioning similarly to the Hero of the Village effect.
- Obsidian Armor: Grants permanent Fire Resistance.
Wearing the full set protects you from all fire and lava damage.
Custom Shields
A variety of new shields are included, such as Wooden, Iron, Diamond, Emerald, Obsidian, and specialized round variants.
Each shield features its own distinct blocking and equip sound effects, providing a more immersive combat experience.
All shields are neatly organized in a dedicated Creative Mode tab for easy access.
Compatibility
This mod is optimized and thoroughly tested for Minecraft 26.1 to 26.2.
It utilizes a dynamic cross-version rendering system to ensure the block outlines and features
work perfectly on both versions using a single .jar file.
