About this project

What does Unknown Echoes add?

Unknown Echoes

Unknown Echoes is an adventure mod built around exploration, puzzles, boss fights, and ability progression. Explore ten biomes in the Echo Realm, then descend through six biomes across the three strata of Deep Echoes. Five Echo abilities, six artifacts, and multiple equipment paths unlock through personal progress.

You can follow the advancement tree step by step as you play. Press K to open the Echo Overview.

Tip: Netherite armor is the baseline difficulty setting for entering this mod's dimensions. Use /unknownechoes command for testing.

Shaders are recommended: mobs and blocks carry a large set of emissive layers.

Quick Start

Entering the Echo Realm

  1. Craft an Echo Realm Key: Use 4 Echo Shards + 1 Echo Core.
  2. Find a Resonance Beacon: Resonance Beacon Ruins generate naturally in the Overworld.
  3. Awaken the Beacon: Right-click the beacon while holding the key.
  4. Enter the Echo Realm: Right-click the activated beacon.
  5. Return to the Overworld: Right-click the beacon inside the realm to return to your Overworld spawn or respawn point.

Entering Deep Echoes

  1. Complete the Echo Realm main story: Obtain Wind Echo, Tide Echo, and True Sight Echo; defeat the three main bosses; then complete the three archive trials in the Echo Grand Archive. Its terminal records a clue to the nearest altar in your journal.
  2. Find an Abyss Beacon Altar: These altars generate naturally in the Echo Cliffs.
  3. Activate the deep passage: With an empty hand, right-click the Abyss Beacon to calibrate Wind, Tide, and True Sight in order. Right-click again after each animation ends.
  4. Enter Deep Echoes: Right-click the beacon after the final activation animation.
  5. Return to the Echo Realm: Right-click the Abyss Beacon in the Fracture Hall.

Core Gameplay

  1. Explore the Echo Forest, find the Memory Pillar Courtyard, defeat the Forgotten Colossus, and unlock Wind Echo.
  2. Explore Mirror Lake and the Tide Lighthouse Reef, enter the Sunken Temple, defeat the Abyss Watcher, and unlock Tide Echo.
  3. Explore the Mirror Dust Cloister, enter the Mirror Temple, defeat the Mirror Guardian, and unlock True Sight Echo.
  4. Explore 16 biomes across both realms, gathering materials, Ancient Pages, and ruin records while challenging 10 regional guardians.
  5. Unlock and upgrade 6 core artifacts through personal exploration progress, strengthening five ability paths.
  6. Find the Echo Grand Archive in the Echo Cliffs to complete the main story and reveal a clue leading deeper.
