About this project
What does Bingus Sky Colony add?
Bingus Sky Colony is a server-oriented companion mod designed for small cooperative Minecraft servers, primarily built around Create: Aeronautics and MineColonies.
The mod provides a custom progression experience for new players while remaining highly configurable for server owners.
Features
- Spawn players on their own procedurally generated floating island.
- A Patchouli guidebook that walks players through repairing Bingus' crashed survey vehicle and reaching the Bingus Lighthouse.
- Community progression that allows players to unlock MineColonies through a shared server objective.
Setup
Floating Islands
Enable island generation with:
/skycolony islands enable
New players will then spawn on their own personal island when logging for the first time.
Community Colony Quest (Optional)
This next quest, given by Bingus, is a communautary quest that will provide the players with a Colony Camp to start their own colony.
This feature requires:
- EasyNPC
- Create: Numismatic
Setup steps:
- Create an EasyNPC named Bingus.
- Players can contribute their coins using:
/bingusquest contribute
- Once the quest is complete (
bsc_colony_state == 1), players can claim their colony using:/bingusquest claim
These commands can be automatically triggered by EasyNPC dialog.
For the intended progression, it is recommended to disable the default MineColonies colony creation item so players must unlock their colony through the Bingus quest.
Intended Use
This mod is designed for small private servers and is not intended as a standalone gameplay mod. It is primarily meant to complement a Create: Aeronautics + MineColonies experience with a guided introduction and shared server progression.
This mod has been specifically created for a private server, so expect it to be rather unstable, it is advised to run some tests and backup before installing it on your server!
