About this project
What does Faction Control add?
🚩 Faction Control: Next-Gen Territory Protection
Faction Control completely redefines the concept of faction warfare in Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge). Forget old-school claiming systems that bog down your server or cause clunky visual glitches. Inspired by the rock-solid architecture of FTB Chunks, this mod introduces a high-performance, memory-focused approach coupled with an intense, cyber-espionage style raid dynamic.
The heart of your base is the Flag (Central Banner). Once planted by a Leader or Officer, it acts as a centralized technological and mystical core, emitting an invisible force field that binds and transforms every single block within your chunk into an indestructible structure against any intruder.
⚡ Key Features
- Event-Driven Absolute Protection: No convoluted commands. The mod intercepts player actions directly at the server engine level. Intruders are completely barred from breaking, placing, or interacting with any block inside a protected territory.
- The Sacred Flag (FlagBlock): The central block possesses physical properties identical to Bedrock. It cannot be mined, broken, or exploded by vanilla TNT or any external mod. The only way to take down a faction is by hacking its grid.
- Wireless Raiding Mechanics: Attackers don't need to blow through walls to breach a base. Equipped with the Raid Controller (Keypad Phone), an enemy player hidden anywhere inside your chunk can initiate a wireless hack signal lasting 60 seconds.
- Defense Under Pressure (Alarm Debuff): The moment a wireless hack begins, the base's internal systems go haywire. The Officer of the defending faction instantly receives Slowness 10 and a blaring, urgent audio alert. They must hunt down the hacker hiding somewhere in the chunk before the countdown reaches 100%!
- Organic Expansion via NBT: Territory growth is strictly balanced. Using single-click upgrade items, players must tune the upgrade to an adjacent chunk, bring it back to their central Flag, and validate it to expand—preventing chaotic "ghost claims" scattered across the world map.
- Real-Time Admin Control: The entire backend is saved in a highly optimized, structured file (
config/faction_control.json), allowing server owners to seamlessly edit, add, or wipe staff/faction claims on the fly from their server control panel.
🛠️ Main Commands
For Players (Officers):
/faction set flag— Spawns your faction's protective banner and establishes your very first territory claim in the current chunk.
For Administrators (OPs):
/faction admin_claim— Permanently protects a chunk as a designated Staff Area (Safezone)./faction admin_setchunk <faction_name>— Forcibly transfers the current chunk to a specific faction./faction delete_force <faction_name>— Completely deletes a faction from the registry and wipes its claims from the world map.
🌐 Engineered for Performance: Built from the ground up utilizing high-speed
HashMapstructures cached directly into the server's RAM. The server processes thousands of territory validations in mere nanoseconds ($O(1)$ complexity), guaranteeing Zero Lag even on packed servers running massive world maps!
