About this project

What does Combatives add?

Notice: Unimixins Required!

Combatives modernizes Minecraft Forge 1.7.10 with contemporary movement mechanics and a physically inspired first-person camera system while preserving vanilla gameplay and multiplayer compatibility.

The movement system introduces fully synchronized swimming and crawling inspired by modern Minecraft, complete with authoritative server synchronization, smooth pose transitions, proper collision handling, and dedicated server support. Compatibility with custom entities and rideable mounts is a major design goal, allowing Combatives to integrate cleanly into heavily modded environments.

The camera system goes beyond traditional view bobbing by simulating player movement through layered physical motion rather than screen shake. Walking, sprinting, turning, jumping, freefall, landing, collisions, explosions, and mounted movement all contribute subtle visual feedback that conveys weight and momentum without affecting gameplay. Camera motion is entirely visual—mouse sensitivity, aiming precision, and player mechanics remain unchanged.

At the core of the system is the Entity Camera Behavior Framework, a modular runtime architecture that allows any entity to provide immersive camera behavior. Built-in implementations already support player movement and horse riding, while additional mounts, vehicles, creatures, and custom entities can integrate through the public API without modifying Combatives itself.

Developers can also use the Combatives Camera API to trigger custom camera effects from weapons, vehicles, abilities, explosions, or entirely new gameplay systems. Every contribution passes through the same validation, accumulation, saturation, safety limits, and rendering pipeline, ensuring consistent behavior regardless of source.

Current Features

  • Modern swimming and crawling mechanics
  • Fully synchronized multiplayer movement and poses
  • Improved movement responsiveness with lightweight momentum shaping
  • Physically inspired first-person camera motion
  • Dynamic inertia, freefall, landing, collision, and explosion feedback
  • Immersive horse riding camera effects
  • Modular Entity Camera Behavior Framework for arbitrary entities
  • Extensive camera configuration and diagnostic tools
  • Optional Fairplay build with standardized gameplay settings
  • Public Camera API for third-party mod integration
  • Multiplayer-safe, compatibility-focused architecture designed for modpacks

MorePlayerModels+ Compatibility

Combatives includes optional MorePlayerModels+ support, allowing custom player sizes and entity disguises to use correctly scaled hitboxes, eye positions, cameras, and targeting geometry. Client and server interaction geometry remains synchronized so resized players retain accurate crosshair targeting and multiplayer interactions, including on dedicated servers.
