About this project

What does YAME add?

YAME (Yet Another Minecraft Expansion) adds two connected progression axes to Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge: a deep metallurgy tree and a rune-based magic system — all built from vanilla materials, no config required.

⚙️ Metals & Alloys

  • 11 new pure metals extracted from ordinary world blocks — tin, zinc, nickel, aluminum, silver, chromium, titanium, cobalt, tungsten, sulfur, and platinum (plus vanilla copper/iron/gold reused).
  • 12 alloys — bronze, brass, constantan, duralumin, steel, stainless steel, titanium alloy, tungsten steel, cobalt steel, electrum, and the endgame tungsten carbide and platinum superalloy.
  • Each alloy comes as a full equipment set — 5 tools (sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe) + 4 armor pieces (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots), each with its own tier and stats.
  • Fire-immune endgame gear: tungsten carbide, platinum, and platinum superalloy items survive lava and fire.

🔥 Machines

  • Extraction Furnace — feed it common natural blocks (granite, diorite, clay, ancient debris…) plus fuel to pull out pure metal ingots. Hopper-automatable.
  • Alloy Furnace — combine 2–3 pure metals (order-independent) to smelt alloy ingots.
  • Both are craftable in survival and behave like vanilla furnaces (progress bar, lit state, fire crackle, particles).

✨ Rune Magic

  • Craft Runes at the new Rune Altar (anvil-style: place two inputs, pull the result — no fuel, no waiting).
  • Turn runes into books for all 42 vanilla enchantments, level-ups included — a rune-driven alternative to grinding the enchanting table.
  • Theme-appropriate material for every enchantment (e.g. Sharpness from Amethyst, Mending from a Golden Apple).

🪄 Casting Staves & Spells

  • 18 casting staves — 6 vanilla materials + all 12 alloys — each aligned to one of 6 elements (Fire, Frost, Storm, Holy, Nature, Shadow) with its own spell power, cooldown reduction, and affinity bonus.
  • 10 active spells — Firebolt, Frost Arrow, Lightning, Blizzard, Heal, Regeneration, Haste, Barrier, Poison Cloud, Curse — cast with right-click, limited only by cooldown (no mana). Firebolt is free on every staff so you can cast from the very start.
  • Bind spellbooks to staves at the anvil, switch the active spell with Shift + scroll, track cooldowns on the HUD. Reset a staff at the grindstone.
  • 3 staff-exclusive enchantments — Spell Power (+damage/healing), Alacrity (−cooldown), and Arcane Reach (+area/projectile speed).

🧭 Progression

  • ore block → (Extraction Furnace) → pure metal → (Alloy Furnace) → alloy ingot → (crafting) → tools & armor, climbing iron → steel → tungsten steel → tungsten carbide and ancient debris → platinum → platinum superalloy (the capstone), while the magic tree runs in parallel from the Rune Altar.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1
  • NeoForge (see the file's listed version)
  • No other mods required.
