About this project
What does TerminalCraft add?
TerminalCraft
TerminalCraft is a Bash-inspired computer and industrial automation mod for Minecraft 1.20.1. Build programmable terminals, pocket computers, turtles, sensors, PLCs, monitor walls, storage systems, and wired or wireless networks—all controlled from an in-game command line.
Each computer has a persistent virtual filesystem with directories, files, environment variables, command history, and shell scripts saved with the world. The shell supports familiar commands, variables, pipes, redirection, conditionals, loops, command chaining, and bounded automation workflows.
TerminalCraft turns your world into a programmable control system:
- Write scripts to control redstone, bundled 16-channel I/O, turtles, storage, displays, and connected devices.
- Build RedNet networks with modems, routers, colored Network Cable, Bundled Network Cable, named hosts, services, and diagnostics.
- Use Red Alloy Wire, Shielded Red Alloy, capacitors, and color-isolated bundled channels for compact RedPower-style automation.
- Program PLCs with timers, counters, latches, analog signals, scaling, PID loops, trend history, alarms, live watch tables, and remote control.
- Create SCADA systems with hierarchical process tags, quality-aware values, historians, alarms, operator roles, audit records, and authenticated controls.
- Design multi-page HMI dashboards with live values, gauges, trends, alarm panels, buttons, page links, monitor-wall touch controls, and a graphical layout editor.
- Monitor the world with Universal Sensor Arrays or dedicated sensors for redstone, blocks, inventories, fluids, energy, entities, machines, environments, networks, kinetics, and chemicals.
- Store and automate item and fluid handling with Network Access Storage, portable SSDs, Materializers, server racks, and generic device access.
- Use the graphical Device Control Center and the searchable in-game Guide to discover devices, configure them, and load PLC templates.
Optional integrations extend TerminalCraft into larger technology-focused modpacks. Create, Mekanism, SecurityCraft, Applied Energistics 2, Refined Storage, Sophisticated Storage, Sophisticated Backpacks, and Storage Drawers can expose native machines, storage, security systems, chemicals, telemetry, and automation controls without becoming mandatory dependencies.
TerminalCraft is designed as a programmable control plane for modded Minecraft: coordinate machines and factories through scripts, networks, PLCs, and SCADA while preserving the identity and mechanics of the mods you already use.
